TRS Motorcycles prototypes: TRRS with injection and TRRS ONE 80cc

surprised all the attendees of its 2023 edition of TRRS Lovers with the presence of the main prototypes on which the brand is working, making it clear that the intention is to continue constantly evolving its trial range.

TRRS PROTOTYPES AT THE TRRS LOVERS

On February 4th, the riders, distributors and fans close to the brand were summoned to the Cent-Peus Motoclub. As in every edition of the TRRS Lovers, the objective of the day was to enjoy a day of trial, connecting elements as interesting as the management, technical staff and customers. A perfect environment to publicise the TRRS 2023 model range and offer the chance to test them in their natural habitat: the mountains.

The big surprise of the day was the presence of two prototypes of the brand: the TRRS ONE RR with electronic injection and the TRRS ONE 80cc.

TRS Motorcycles has been working for several years on different technical solutions that allow it to continue evolving its two-stroke mechanics and also be prepared to overcome the demanding European environmental regulations to come.

The trial market is betting on electronic injection. That is a reality. As well as its rapid evolution within the particularity of the response demand that a trial mechanic needs. Far from being a problem, injection, which is undoubtedly more technically complex than the carburetor, opens up a range of electronic possibilities for adapting the mechanics to different environmental contexts, such as altitude, pressure or engine response.

The new TRRS ONE RR prototype with electronic injection is based on the brand’s current Engine Revolution engine, on which work has been carried out to adapt a GET injection body, a brand that is currently working with Vertigo, Scorpa and Sherco.

This does not imply that we will see a TRRS ONE with electronic injection in the 2024 range, nor that the prototype will have the shapes of the model we saw in the TRRS Lovers.

It is simply a demonstration that the current TRRS engine works optimally with electronic fuel injection.

TRRS One 80cc Prototype

The second prototype we saw at the TRRS Lovers was the 80cc TRRS ONE. As in the previous case, TRS Motorcycles has focused on the development of a lighter and more compact engine, with a displacement of 80cc.

Why an 80cc?

Since the brand began manufacturing its first model, the ONE 2016 range, the catalogue has been growing horizontally (ONE, ONE R, ONE RR and ONE GOLD) and vertically (ON-E Kids, X-TRACK).

Studying this catalogue there is an obvious hole, and that is that the children’s range covers up to nine years old, but from there there is a gap to the 125cc, which ideally is designed from 13 or 14 years old. For this reason, with the birth of the TRRS ONE 80cc, the brand aims to have a range that responds to the trial enthusiast, whatever their age, covering all displacements, and expectations of use, with the trial (ONE) and trial excursion (X-TRACK) models.

An interesting aspect for TRRS regarding the ONE 80cc, is that this model is traditionally not homologated or registered, in addition to having all the synergies in the chassis part with its older sisters. Therefore, it is a logical and affordable project, which we will most likely see consolidated in the 2024 TRS Motorcycles range.
