Trial licenses under examination

RFME 550.

In this new post of “in the first class” I would like to comment on the licenses , that whenever these dates approach and with an eye on the following season, it comes to mind that we will need a federation license.

Taking into account that it is a basic and mandatory requirement to be able to compete, then each one to analyze particularly if it convinces them, interests them or will spend another year without running a single federated event. On the other hand, it is the only “easy” resource we have to practice trials without the complications of access to the natural environment.

The data I present are those of my federation, the Catalan one, but wow… I don’t think it differs much from other autonomies either.

TYPES OF LICENSES

RFME Approved FCM License:
It will be valid to participate in all types of races held throughout the Spanish State, scoring or not for the Catalan or Spanish Championships , except for those at the International level.

FCM TRIAL License: It will be valid to participate in all types of trials that are scoring for the Championship of Catalonia and in those communities in which an agreement has been reached.

FCM Social License: For pilots over 16 years of age or who reach this age during the current year. It will be valid to participate in all types of specialties (trial, enduro, motocross…) in Catalonia, but that are NOT scoring for the Catalan Championship.

CATEGORIES

BENJAMIN: (4 to 5 years old).

FRY: (from 6 to 11 years old).

JUVENILE: (from 11 to 13 years old).

CADET: (14 to 15 years old).

JUNIOR 1, 2 and 3: (over 16 years old) in the fourth year they move to Senior.

SENIOR:
(over 18 years old) and have been in possession of the Junior license for three years.

As long as there are no veteran championships, it will not be necessary to apply for a license with this category, so a rider over 55 years of age who has never had a federation license, can be Junior for one, two and three years, going on to be Senior in the fourth.

Attention: RIDERS OVER 55 YEARS OF AGE WILL ALWAYS NEED A MEDICAL CERTIFICATE THAT ACCREDITS THE NECESSARY PHYSICAL CONDITIONS FOR THE PRACTICE OF MOTORCYCLING.

Attention: RIDERS UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE will always need a Medical Certificate that accredits the necessary physical conditions for the practice of motorcycling and the corresponding authorization from the father or mother.

Note: As I know that we always wait until the last day and time to process the license, it must be taken into account that it is not allowed to do it on the same day of the Trial. Wednesdays are the last days to apply for a license to race on the weekend. Any license that is presented after the Wednesday of the week in which you want to compete, will not be accepted for processing.

Bonaigua License

that, how is it possible that state motorcycling is not among the 30 federations with the highest number of licenses? Surely it will be a complicated issue to resolve, so I will only analyze the trial licenses, more specifically those of Catalonia, but I encourage those responsible for each autonomy to do the same and we can have a more or less clear inventory of the federated trial riders that we have in our country.

This year, as there is a specific license for TRIAL FCM, it has been easier to count the ones that have been processed, specifically… just under 350.

The homologated, social or different categories, I have no way of knowing if they are trial or other specialties, but it doesn’t matter, they are
I will “generous” and increase them by 50% by asking another question.

In Catalonia we only have a little more than 500 trialists? The answer is obvious… NO! So why are there trialists who don’t apply for a license?

We could get several answers, but of all the ones that have come to mind, perhaps these are the most talked about: they don’t want to compete, it’s expensive or both. On the other hand, two totally logical and acceptable answers, but which prompt me to ask two more questions:

Where do they do, practice and train trials?

The answer (like all of them) is particular to each one; Mine, having as a principle (bad principle) that free trial is regulated (prohibited) is… only in trials! And for that, whether I like it or not, I need a federation license.

License is expensive, why?

Once again, I have not made anything clear as to why the price of a license in our country has to be more expensive than the same license in other countries in Europe.

The answer from the federations is always the same, it’s that… “It’s the insurance coverages” that make a license expensive and they’ll surely be right, but… and in France, Italy, UK, etc., aren’t insurance just as expensive?

I’m tired of this argument and the comment that has come out of my mouth more than once… “As long as the body and the wallet hold up”Follow processing the license at any price, since, in addition, in our country, there is no other legal possibility to practice trial without it.

David has provided the means to channel any comments, but if you want to make it more personalized, you will always find me at bonaigua@motocat.cat
