Sherco Trial 2.5 & 2.9 2006

After a year of marketing the new 3.2 4T, Sherco has decided to take a little breather to slowly evolve its valve model, and thus take advantage of the great acceptance of its two-stroke variant worldwide.

The Spanish-French firm has directed efforts to improve common parts between the two- and four-stroke units, which logically concentrate on the chassis part.

As a starting point, a new frame has been designed, with a triangular section instead of a rectangular one, also made of chrome-molybdenum steel , but more compact, and finished in matt black.

With the two-stroke engine in its bowels , we observe a generous free space between the cylinder head and the frame itself, which is capable of filling the great height typical of a valve engine. Consequently, new moulds had to be created to adapt the fuel tank to the frame geometries, and at the same time give it a more modern line according to the new design of the bike.

Regarding the suspension section, Sherco has taken a qualitative leap with the incorporation of a new Paioli fork very similar to the previous one, but allows adjustments in extension and compression. At the rear, the tone of past editions is maintained, with a completely revised Ollé monoshock that can also be adjusted in preload.

At the level thermodynamics, only a general fine-tuning has been carried out of all the components, and proceeded to the Placement of a new ignition cover. Despite being called the 2.9, it actually cubes 272.1cc, only twenty-three more than the 2.5, with which it shares all the other mechanical components.

Finally, the beautifulanodised wheels with the central body in black, its aluminium footpegs, or its aggressive aesthetics are also part of the changes made in the new Sherco range.
