The Milan Motor Show has brought us great novelties, such as the Gas Gas Trial GP 2019, the second edition of the most exclusive Gas Gas model, created as a result of the work with the competition team and its official riders, Jeroni Fajardo and Jaime Busto.
MECHANICAL NOVELTIES
The power of the new Trial GP starts from within, with a high-performance engine that has new crankshaft bearings to ensure the perfect lubrication of the whole and also guarantee its total tightness. A change in its design that now allows the maintenance of the crankshaft seals to be carried out easily and comfortably from the outside.
The addition of a new S3 signature cylinder head and cylinder head, along with the new clutch and kevlar discs with three-position variable preload, have further increased the performance of the powerful GasGas engines. An authentic version of ‘Grand Prix’, as its acronym reveals, whose stainless steel screws highlight the ‘racing’ aspect. An edition that for the 2019 season incorporates a new clutch cover, divided into two pieces, which allows the maintenance of the clutch discs in a simple way.
NEW SWINGARM AND PROGRESSIVE LINK AT THE REAR
The changes compared to its predecessor in the cycle part make up a long list of novelties that require a careful reading if we don’t want to miss any detail. The first, evident at an aesthetic level thanks to the improvements in the chassis and engine, is reflected in its exterior appearance, with an attractive and aggressive image where black and red colors predominate in order to accentuate the ‘racing’ character of a model prepared 100% for competition.
If we delve into the more technical section, the rear axle – as in that of its sisters in the TXT saga – is the section that has undergone the greatest transformation compared to previous models, with the incorporation of the new swingarm, now lighter and more effective, and the use of a new progressive link system that, in combination with the effectiveness of the Öhlins shock absorber, it has brought such good results to the GasGas competition team in the World Championship.
A profound renovation to which new elements are added such as the chain skid, now easily removable without the need to disassemble the swingarm, and the easy-to-assemble chain tensioner, with bearings and greater protection. As well as the new master cylinder, FIM brake disc with guard, anchored directly to the brake caliper, and a new guide for the rear brake hose, which features a new crown guard.
CARBON FIBER FILTER BOX
The novelties in the central chassis part are also evident if we look at the chassis improvements, with a new chassis-swingarm fixing. Details of quality and sophistication for new GasGas TrialGP models with carbon fibre filter box and aluminium Hard Rock running boards, whose 2019 edition once again sports its distinctive numbered stainless steel plate.
Also of note is the new front brake and clutch master cylinder assembly, and the new front fender design.
HIGH PRECISION AND FEEL AT THE FRONT END
The 2019 models once again rely on high-quality components, such as the excellent Tech racing fork, the lightened red suspension flanges, or the Renthal handlebars and protector. While, at the same time, a new throttle cable with aerial regulator is added so that the rider can adjust the feel to his liking in the easiest and most comfortable way.
Top-quality components that are combined with approved elements such as the new Everest multifunction, more versatile and interactive, to offer the customer a true competition trial without sacrificing the comforts of the new digital era.
