2 Days of Arinsal Trial 2012. Chronicle and Classifications

A new edition of the 2 days of Arinsal comes to an end, an international competition that on its own merit has earned the loyalty of fans, to the point of bringing together almost 500 fans between participants and followers in this eleventh edition.
The popular competition takes place over almost 30 kilometres a day in the bowels of a setting as incomparable as the Pyrenees.
As usual, the Arinsal Motoclub proposed a route made up of 20 zones in different scenarios, combining water, stone and earth to offer diversity and excitement to all participants. The most positive thing about this competition was, once again, the excellent atmosphere among all the fans.

This time the brands have been more involved than ever and all of them, except Montesa, moved their infrastructures to the Andorran town to support the fans and present the respective 2013 Trial ranges in society.
In the sporting field, the overall victory went to Jordi Pascuet with zero points, followed by Joan Pons with one point and Pol Tarrés with seven. The presence of other high-level pilots, such as Alfredo Gómez, David Millán or Jorge Casales, should be highlighted.
In the 2 days of Arinsal the regulations, given its amateur nature, are not as strict as in a national or world championship. This clashed somewhat with the format of the zones and the application of the “non-stop” format, especially of reds and blacks, since in some it was allowed to stop, in others it was not.

On the other hand, the route of the first day was especially hard for the runners. The ascent to the highest point, after the first aid station, was really demanding for the more than 250 followers who did not compete and especially for the little ones, whose corpulence and less powerful bikes were a problem to follow the route.
For the second day, after a large number of abandonments, it was decided to replace that part of the interzone with another less demanding and logical one according to the context of this event. Another important detail: the queues. More than two hours of waiting to face the first three sections is excessive, especially when you have more than 30 kilometers to stretch the competition. The first few areas should be short, snappy and simple. This happens every year and has not been corrected in any edition.
The 2 days of Arinsal are probably one of the most beautiful Trial races in the world. Many fans already have it marked on their annual calendars as a must-attend event, while many new ones join the experience. Some of them came from as far away as Venezuela, the Canary Islands, Andalusia, Galicia, Asturias… demonstrating the impressive love and passion for this sport.
The tour never ceases to amaze. The framework of the competition is priceless. However, the route hardly changes from year to year, and the worst thing is that 90% of the areas are also the same, including the passes.

Those of us who have participated in this competition for more than ten editions know that this route allows fans to live a new experience and get to know new areas every year; Repeating the same areas, when we talk about a route with such length and possibilities, should not be the best choice.
