The Trial Crisis

historia_pasionJust a few days before a great moment for the National Trial, such as After the celebration of the World Championship in a humble region of El Bierzo, Pobladura de las Regueras, we have been pleasantly surprised to find a truly interesting article from our Companions of www.todotrial.com you can follow on this link.

Needless to say, AMEN. We couldn’t agree more with what is said and commented on in that article. Based on this report, we can affirm that, as specialized media, we know very well how the market behaves and what it has done in recent years, both at the amateur and competition level.

We are facing a crisis, not only of Trial, but also of the media that help to disseminate this sport with rigor and knowledge. My professional experience in this sector dates back ten years, within a large publishing group, such as Motorpress Ibérica and specifically in the magazines Motociclismo and Moto Verde, always linked to the Trial sector. In these large media, the Trial simply fills gaps that the rest of the specialties do not cover, in addition to being the first to dispense with when pages are needed. In addition to all this, the theme that interests us is always the same: how good we are at winning world titles and how more or less effective are the Trial bikes that make up the small catalog of models.

Endurovstrial-2A few of us have the added pride and responsibility that absolutely all the information in this sector is in independent media, which do not have it easy to move forward. It is difficult to find sponsors to support us, and without them it is impossible to get funding to make reports, do merchandising or simply be able to live humbly from this business.

What do I mean by this? Well, the future of Trial is in the hands of the fans, not four elite riders. If we don’t give the information of the models, of the far-fetched news that we get diving into foreign websites or social networks, it would be an even more monotonous and dead sector than it is right now.

In all this environment , TRIALWORLD was born. It was not born to create competition with TODOTRIAL or ZONATRIAL, but to complement the information and enrich this sector with different reports, guidelines and opinions. I think thatbetween all of us we are achieving something very important, which is to create fans and promote the sport of Trial at an amateur level. Additionally, even if it is unilaterally, I express my dissatisfaction with the behavior of the brands and competition teams, except in specific cases, since we feel helpless. Brands should bet on our media to make them stronger and build a better future.

Whether that time comes or not, we will all continue to work as hard as we can for the Trial, for the fans.
