In the On Sherco’s 2002 models, changes were introduced with the aim of improving the stability and lightness of the set. For which a multitude of parts have been redesigned, which in addition to being lighter are also more resistant, giving a general improvement in the level of finishes and quality of the components.
The decoration has also changed, although it is still based on the colors blue and yellow.
SHERCO 2002 NOVELTIES COMPARED TO SHERCO 2001
Geometry: Although it is not visible to the naked eye, the chassis has changed all its geometry, which implies a change in the entire weight distribution of the bike. New engine location, footpegs, steering angle, suspensions…
This provides greater stability and increases the feeling of lightness.
Ventilation System: It incorporates a new fan and a new housing, thus increasing the airflow through the radiator, narrowing the band of engine operating temperatures, which now oscillates between 63 and 66 degrees.
Tilt: It is completely new, integrating the brake caliper and being longer than the previous one. Their anchors also vary, improving sturdiness.
Suspension: the settings have been changed to adapt to the new geometry.
Exhaust: its internal structure varies, improving gas circulation and reducing noise, which also improves engine performance. It incorporates an external protector.
Gear shifting: The final development of the speeds has been revised, lengthening the first three to achieve greater use.
Crankcase Guard: It now includes holes that make it easier to cool the lower part of the engine. The material between the plate and the motor is newly composed, further helping to cushion impacts.
Wheels: One of the great novelties is the incorporation of 32-spoke wheels, instead of the usual 36, which means the installation of new hubs. This increases robustness and lightness, thanks to the use of new materials.
Brakes: it incorporates new AJP discs and calipers, the rear is now integrated into the swingarm, and the front is now double piston.
Brake pedal: made of forged aluminum and with a retractable dropout.
