Sherco 2004

In 2004 Sherco introduced important changes, not only in the most visible part, where the growing prominence of the grey colour in combination with the brand’s characteristic blue stands out, but also in terms of the chassis and mechanics.

Highlights include new chassis geometries and a renewed rear shock absorber that provides more progressivity thanks to modifications to the main wishbone. The fork also receives minor tweaks to its hydraulics.

Mechanically, the most relevant thing is the work done on the clutch and ignition system, without forgetting other small improvements such as those made to the exhaust system.

Technical innovations Sherco 2.5 and 2.9 2004 compared to the Sherco 2.5 and 2.9 2003

Engine

– New SKF crankshaft bearings with polyamide cage, quieter and stronger.

– Revised clutch. New press design, stiffer and more precise in its operation.

– New Leonelli Evolution 2 electronic ignition, state-of-the-art and equipped with variable gear, which, together with the new silencer, contributes to improving the behaviour of the engine at all speeds.

– New muffler design. Revised in the inner labyrinth and fibers to improve its durability and efficiency, also influencing a better way to deliver the engine’s power.

– New central crankcases made of shell casting. A system that guarantees a better fit of the different pieces, a better exterior finish and greater resistance with a notable reduction in weight.

Cycle Part

– New rear shock absorber, infinitely adjustable in spring preload and with greater travel. New progressivity of the system thanks to a new design of the main trapezoid.

– Modified chassis geometry – increased fork feed – to adapt to the new rear suspension.

– State-of-the-art Paioli front fork, with new hydraulic steps in order to obtain a smoother and more precise handling.

– New AJP clutch and front brake pumps, finished in natural cast iron and with a more precise operation.
