Sandra Gomez, injured

sandra_400A few minutes ago we received the sad news from one of our most important riders and recently proclaimed Team Trial World Champion, Sandra Gómez, has injured her ankle in the Enduro World Championship and with the good fortune that he will not have to go under the knife.

We leave you with Sandra’s full letter. From Trialworld we wish him a speedy and satisfactory recovery. In 2012 we’ll see her back at the top, for sure!

On the 1st and 2nd of October I decided to participate in the last rounds of the enduro world championship in Mende, France, since the trial season in the women’s category had already ended with the TDN. Unfortunately, in Friday’s super time trial, I fractured my right ankle. After a few weeks of doctors and tests to see if it was necessary to intervene surgically, the conclusion has been a fibula fracture and a serious talus fracture of the right foot. In this way the doctor has decided not to operate since all the pieces of bone are in place and can weld on their own. Now all that remains is to wait for the bone to heal and begin the long rehabilitation of the talus.

From here I would like to thank my family and all the people who are looking out for me so that this is more bearable. Even if I can’t ride a motorcycle for now, I’ll keep giving it my all, that’s why this Saturday I’ll be at the demonstration in Madrid, YES TO SPORT, YES TO MOTORCYCLING, see you in the Plaza de Colon at 11:00. Lots of gas.
