RFME 2012 Champions Gala

rfme_400_1has held this morning in Madrid the Gala of Champions of 2012 with the presence of the best pilots of this year.

After the conclusion of the Ordinary General Assembly, the awards given by the RFME were presented to the champion pilots of Spain as well as to those who have managed to qualify among the top three in international competitions. The list of athletes who have attended the Gala has been long, highlighting the presence of world champions Luis Salom, Maverick Viñales, Alex and Marc Márquez, Pol Espargaró and Jordi Torres, among others.

But not only these have taken the applause of the attendees, also the Spanish Quadcross champions, Dani Vila and Guillem Ullastres, the Spanish Freestyle Championship, Dylan Trull, the Spanish Supermotard Championship, Francesc Cucharrera and David Giménez, the Spanish Enduro 1 champion, Lorenzo Santolino, the Cross Country champion, Jaume Betriu, the Motocross champions, Jonathan Barragán and Nil Arcarons and the Speed champions, Carmelo Morales, Jordi Torres and Alex Márquez.

In addition to these, Maverick Viñales, Jordi Torres, Carmelo Morales, Albert Santamaría, Miguel Ángel Poyatos, Sandra Gómez and Jaime Busto took to the stage to collect the bronze medal for Motorcyclist Merit for the results obtained in European and World Championships. The silver medals went to Pol Espargaró, Luis Salom, Tom Sykes and José Luis Espinosa. Marc Márquez, for being World Speed Champion in Moto2 and Sandra Gómez for winning the Trial of Nations together with Mireia Conde and Laia Sanz, were the riders who were awarded the gold medal.

These athletes were able to be in Madrid today but, for different reasons, other honorees were not present. Marc Coma, Iván Cervantes, Cristóbal Guerrero, Albert Cabestany, Toni Bou, Adam Raga, Laia Sanz , Jorge Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa… All of them will be given the award they deserve for their great results.

But in addition to the athletes, the RFME did not want to forget the Motoclubs that have been working for Spanish motorcycling for many years. Thus, the MC Alcarreño, for its 50th Anniversary, and the Club Motor Jerez, the Biela Club Manresa, the Grup Motor Molins and the MC Orballo (all of them for their 25th anniversary) have received the Plaques of Recognition from various members of the Federation.

The statements of all the pilots have been along the same lines. Their satisfaction at being champions in the different specialties and the goal of equalling or improving in 2013 are the starting points for them. There is no shortage of quality and quantity of good athletes from the world of two wheels in Spain.
