2009: Consolidating its trial bike ( TR280i), developing a trial-touring model (Ossa Explorer) and finally launching the Enduro bike.

Market context

After the first prototype of the Ossa TR 280i appeared on stage at the Milan Motor Show, a complete work of evolution and development began before the production of a bike that has been a real revolution. Two years later, Ossa Factory again chose EICMA in Milan to present a new prototype.

It is a bike that brings a series of novelties that again They make the difference and preserve the philosophy of Ossa Factory: to offer the market a technologically advanced product with a long series of advantages both in terms of performance and performance, as well as in an aspect of vital importance such as the

The Ossa Enduro 250i/300i can be adapted to the requirements, circumstances and riding style of its users.

The new Ossa Enduro 250i/300i , which brings back the name of an icon of the 70s , stands out, among other things, for its bold design and for forming an extremely compact package. Among its most relevant features, its revolutionary 2-stroke engine with a double injection system, the perimeter frame and the new location of the air filter box, among other features, shine with its own light.

Revolution

Just as the Ossa TR 280i revolutionised the world of trial, the new Enduro 250i/300i is presented in the same spirit but with the advantage that the Ossa Factory team has accumulated valuable experience over the last two years. On the new Enduro 250i/300i the divisible frame, made of chrome molybdenum, has a perimeter structure and the fuel tank is not part of the structure, but is part of the frame. It has been placed in a low and forward position, with the particularity that, inside, the air filter box has been located. This is wrapped and protected by the fuel tank housing itself.

The suspensions are of the highest level from Öhlins, a firm with which Ossa Factory has an interesting collaboration. The location of the rear shock on the right side stands out, which allows additional space to house part of the scarf-type exhaust travel. This unique shock absorber works with a variable progressivity linkage system and has been mounted on a tubular structure swingarm. The front fork is inverted with 48 mm bars. Braking is provided by a set of state-of-the-art 260 mm discs at the front and 220 mm at the rear with Brembo brake calipers.

Engine

Single-cylinder two-stroke with the one-piece crankcase and removable cassette-style derailleur, the engine of the new Ossa 250 Enduro has a Revolutionary Dual Injection System developed in collaboration with the Kokusan signature and an electronic exhaust valve assisted by the same ECU of the injection. One of the injectors has been placed in the crankcase and the other in the cylinder chamber, which is unusual since it is usually placed in the cylinder head.

This all-new system allows for a long series of combinations in set-up and management in character of this revolutionary Ossa Enduro 250i/300i. Its electric start is very innovative due to its simplicity and stands out for the absence of gears, which contributes to the lightness and simplicity of a set that will be under 100 kg in weight.

Design

The development of the Ossa 250 Enduro has been carried out by the Ossa team that has been working on the project since the end of 2010 with the aim of having a pre-series of 20 units for importers by the beginning of 2013. The first production, which will take place at the Ossa facilities in Girona, will consist of around 2,000 motorcycles that will begin to be manufactured and distributed in June 2013. The total investment for this launch will reach two million euros.
