scorpasy03The The 2003 Scorpa SY 250 underwent major changes both mechanically and in the chassis level. Although aesthetically practically unchanged from its predecessor, the improvements have been aimed at optimising its dynamic performance in the future. looking for an engine with lower revs and over-revving capability, as well as new heights in the chassis geometry to increase the precision of the front end.

Scorpa also offered for the 2003 SY 250 the possibility of equipping the Long Ride kit, consisting of a 5.5-litre tank and seat.

– Engine: Modification of the ignition, recalculated explosion chamber thus changing the compression ratio, adding a lightened flywheel, combined with a new carburetion the result offered is a livelier engine power in the bass and a remarkable stretch, without losing the smoothness that has always characterized it.

– Exhaust elbow: The outlet elbow (manifold) is shorter to help the motor response, made of a new material, the position has been modified so that it is more protected in the event of an impact.

– Swingarm: Completely new, made entirely of extruded aeronautical alloy parts, assembled together with pieces carved in block by means of a numerical control program, providing greater driving precision thanks to its rigidity to the previous model.

– Tensioning cam: The two cams for tensioning are smaller in order to avoid friction with obstacles, for greater comfort and speed of chain tensioning, since the cams do not have splines.

– Chassis: Slight modification in the geometry of the chassis, for greater precision in the front axle.

– Rear suspension: Sachs shock absorber without linkages, 2002 model with different settings to create homogeneous reactions with the fork, being able to adjust in compression and rebound, without having to disassemble any element.

– Handlebar: All-new, with different top and side grades for greater control and stability. At the bottom of the handlebar mounts, there are cleats that can be removed according to the rider’s needs. The handlebar mount has been fitted with a protective pad, according to competition standards.

– Decoration: New design of decals on tank, glossy rear fender with the decoration of the optional model of the 2002 model. Different color and decoration of the headlight port, the whole set gives it a more “racing” image.

– Fork: New front fork designed one more year by Paioli with the collaboration of Scorpa. Modifying the hydraulic passages with new detent holders and seals, as well as the 2002 model the bottles, being able to adjust compression depression.

– Fuel tank: The same capacity and shape as the 2002 2.5-liter model, with the 5.5-liter Long Rider model with seat being optionally mounted, without any modification for assembly.
