More photos of Jordi Tarrés’s JT

jtg_480We continue to receive information about the most anticipated Trial bike of all time. A bike that caters to unprecedented patterns in the specialty and designed under the canons of the man who reinvented this sport in the nineties and holds seven world titles. We are talking about Jordi Tarrés and the project of the new JT, which will be framed in the JTG brand and will have as a sister the MK, a second project aimed at Enduro under the guidelines of the well-known Miki Arpa.

JOTAGAS, which is the name of the company that hosts both projects, is completing the work of art. We are sure that in a few months, perhaps coinciding with the arrival of the bulk of the 2012 models, we will be able to enjoy the long-awaited model live.

As always, as we get news from the brand, we’ll let you know quickly.

More information about the bike:

Today is a great day for Trial. As he himself stated in the first person Jordi Tarrés: “Something that I had always carried in my head, the creation of a new bike, the bike of my dreams and that I have always wanted.” The name of the new bike will be JTG and the model, specifically, JT (the acronym of Jordi Tarrés). The project is in a very advanced phase of development and, according to sources from the brand itself, we will be able to play it next May in a more mediatic and less political presentation than the one on February 17.

Among the technical innovations that we find in the JTG will be the following:

* Very careful and innovative design, very light, rigid and reliable.

* Aluminum double beam chassis with side-anchored shock absorber, adjustable in extension and integrated fuel tank.

jt2* Removable rear subframe. Made of aluminum.

* Dual-circulation radiator with built-in filler cap and pressure valve, protected from shocks between engine tie rods.

* Removable aluminum stirrup brackets and adjustable footpegs.

* Progressive rear suspension system with very small and light linkages, adjustable shock absorber in operation.

* 39mm Ollé front fork. Adjustable in extension and compression.

* Innovatively designed forged swingarm with integrated chain tensioning eccentrics protected against shocks .

* JTG engine designed specifically for the practice of Trial, light and small, but with a lot of inertia. It has a water pump with direct entry to the crankcases and double seal.

* 5-speed gearbox with 3-disc clutch and diaphragm spring.

* Large capacity filter box of filtered air, with easy access to filter replacement.

* “Long life” exhaust system adapted to the requirements of the JTG engine with the possibility of replacing the fibers of the silencer.

* Wrap-around crankcase skid plate thanks to its design, protects both crankcases and chassis, without damaging the fixing screws.

* Thanks to its geometry with a very low centre of gravity, a lot of stability is achieved both at a standstill and when moving.

* Weight of the set: 65 kg.

The company Jotagas (JTG) will develop innovative trial and enduro motorcycles at the TechnoPark Motorland Motor Technology Park, in Alcañiz (Teruel), which will be marketed in the coming months, and which could compete in the world championships of these modalities from next year.

jt3This was confirmed today at a press conference by the president of the company, Jordi Robinat, who appeared together with the Minister of Industry of the Aragonese Government, Arturo Aliaga, and the riders Jordi Tarrés (trial) and Miki Arpa (enduro), who have joined the business project as advisors.

To implement the project, Jotagas plans to create 25 direct high-skilled jobs and invest 3.2 million euros, of which more than one will be allocated to R+D+i (Research, Development and Innovation) tasks in which the University of Zaragoza will participate. The company plans, according to its president, to present its two motorcycles between the months of April and May, and to manufacture over eight hundred or a thousand units of each model by the end of the year.

The president of the company explained that with the new motorcycles developed, Jotagas does not intend to compete in the market of the motorcycle industry but to offer its potential customers a motorcycle of an “elitist” nature, with an innovative design aimed at enhancing their speed and mobility.

Robinat thanked the support given to the project by the Aragonese Government and the University of Zaragoza, and praised the facilities of the Alcañiz Motor Technology Park as they will allow the development of the
new motorcycles and test their features on the Motorland circuit.

jt6Jordi Tarrés and Miki Arpa have appeared at the presentation of Jotagas, who have expressed their satisfaction with their incorporation into the development project of the new motorcycles, and the plans of both to lead the teams with which the company plans to compete in the circuits of the world championships of both modalities.

Jordi Tarrés, seven-time trial world champion, commented that Jotagas has allowed him to carry out “Something that I had always had in my head, the creation of a new bike, the bike of my dreams and that I have always wanted.” In this regard, he added that his ambition is “to make a technically innovative, light and reliable bike, with an incredible design”.

For his part, Miki Arpa, several times Spanish and European enduro champion, explained that Motorland is “the best possible place” to have a base of operations to assemble and test motorcycles.

The Minister of Industry has expressed his confidence in the future of a company that, according to him, can be the germ of a motorcycle manufacturing industry “pride of Spanish technology”.

He has assured that he has the same “feelings” regarding Jotagas that he experienced in 1980, when the multinational General Motors “changed the future of Aragon” by locating in the Community. For Aliaga, the homologation in the market of two new Spanish-made motorcycles, with the participation of Robinat in the project and the University of Zaragoza, “is a dream, because in Aragon it was unthinkable a few years ago that a motorcycle could be built”.

It has also pledged to defend the homologation of these two new motorcycles before the Ministry of Industry, and to support entrepreneurship.
