Miquel Gelabert: “I focused on getting back into the rhythm of the non-stop and minimising mistakes”

It is not Miquel’s first season at GasGas, but it is under the shelter of the official structure of the brand, which gives him extra confidence and means to fight regularly to be in the top positions of the championship.

Looking ahead to this new season, Gelabert has focused on adapting to the bike and also to the non-stop regulations, which usually generate surprises due to their great subjectivity and can be key in the final classification of the race.

It is also a year to finish earning the trust of the brand and stand out as a driver, knowing that he already has the best means at his disposal. Supporting him will be his new Team Manager, Albert Cabestany.

QUOTES Miquel Gelabert

Miquel Gelabert"My goal for 2021 is to be fighting for a podium place in every race and finish inside the top three at the end of the championship. I know it's an ambitious goal because there are very good riders, but I think it's possible, especially with the feeling I have with the bike. With the team I've been able to fine-tune the bike a bit more in the last few weeks, to suit what I like, and I feel like I'm in a great position to start this season with a good result. I've been training a lot, spending a lot of time on my bike. I've regained the non-stop rhythm and focused on minimising the mistakes that hurt me last year. Now I feel ready to face the world championship. Lately I've been riding with Albert Cabestany once or twice a week to train together, which has been great. He has a lot of experience in trial and it will be very useful to have him by my side this year."
