HM 300R Future Trial

montesa_future_300accumulating a total of nine world titles under his belt, all of them consecutively, Montesa has not made any major changes to his Cota 4RT for a whopping six years, which means that it has not changed since its launch. It has only received technical tweaks in order to mitigate its high acoustic level and an adjustment of its performance to comply with all homologation regulations.

For the last three editions, Montesa has no longer promoted its Cota 4RT and the customer can only find the remains of stock that the dealers and factory may have, but always with the chromatic and technical guidelines of the 2009 range. If you remember, on this Cota 4RT we had to change gears and exhaust manifold, since the standard version is very capped to be able to comply with all the required homologation regulations.

montesa_future_300_2An example to follow is, without a doubt, the role that the FUTURE TRIAL team has been playing since 2005 on the Montesa Cota 4RT, on which they have introduced spectacular technical and visual modifications. In fact, this team created an interesting 125cc 4T prototype based on the standard engine and chassis of the Cota 4RT, with which they have already participated in the World Championship.

The latest work of the FUTURE TRIAL team is the 300R CORSA LUNGA, with a displacement of 287.5cc and highly durable cylinder-piston assembly assembly developed specifically for this engine.

The heart of the engine has been completely redesigned to lengthen the stroke from 54.2 mm to 57.2 mm. The feeding system has also been modified to further reduce weight and is signed by Denso, sourced from Japan.

The injection is still Keihin, but programmable and with the possibility of incorporating two different cartographies that can be selected from a device placed on the handlebars.

montesa_future_300_3Another of the thermodynamic details that attract the most attention is the Termignoni carbon fibre exhaust, which in addition to optimising performance, manages to significantly reduce the overall weight of the set.

Fabio Lenzi
, who is the tester who has been in charge of the development of the new bike, said:

“At FUTURE TRIAL we have never had a performance problem, but this new engine set-up is amazing and the level of performance is very high. It also stands out for its ease of use; It’s a very competitive and fun bike.”

TwitterAesthetically, the HM 300R FUTURE TRIAL is presented with very attractive and original graphics, which this year take up and develop the myth of Steve McQueen. All this is completed with countless small aesthetic and functional details, such as the carbon headlight with LED lights, special aluminum eccentrics, anodized aluminum skid plate, carbon tubes for brakes and clutch, as well as lightened wheels.
