All with standard bikes?

COTA2012Recently, a profound debate has come to the fore about whether we should return to the Non-Stop regulation or maintain the current one, where stops can be made; What we do seem to agree on is that Openfree does a disservice to the progression of our riders. This is not our own opinion, but in all the interviews we have conducted with the “Young Promises” of this report, this opinion is unanimously reflected.

Each regulation will have its good or bad things. However, after covering the World Championship for several years, what always made me the most angry was when the riders arrived in the area and had a “shot” time, without being able to enjoy themselves. That is, if a family comes to see a Trial, they have to park, locate themselves and wait for the riders to arrive; all to enjoy less than two minutes of them. Obviously, this is a reflection for the fans, who by moving to the races creates more fans. Environmental difficulties and other things come together here, but it is very important to focus the competitions on external visibility, as it is the only way for Trial to continue promoting itself and creating fans.

And here comes the important thing. While we were preparing the interview with Cabestany, we set up a survey on our website, to find out what you think about the Hypothetical idea of making all drivers compete with strict series models, in order to promote competitiveness in the brands and for drivers to fight on a more equal footing. This would have a positive impact on the fans and budgets of the brands, which should really fight with the same weapon in competition and markets.

Interestingly, Cabestany stated that “exaggerating, if it were up to me, I would limit the bikes to 85 kilos in weight and 200cc”.

We would follow the same trend of equality that MotoGP seeks with Moto2 and Moto3, as well as making things much easier for all riders looking to “hook” into the group of the “top 5″ and “top 10”. Currently, the differences are so important and the teams so small that, for any firm promise, such as Alfredo Gómez or Moret, it is difficult to find a team with potential that will catapult them higher. Perhaps in this way brands could support more riders.

Currently, these are the statistics of your reviews:

Would you like all riders to race on stock bikes?

Not at all 34.8%

Yes, to encourage the arrival of new pilots 30.4%

It would focus brands more on the fan 21.7%

That would be just 13%
