ossa_2012_400At Trialworld we were the pioneers at a national level in offering you the first images of the Ossa TR 280i 2012, recently presented at the G.P. in Italy. Now we expand on this news with the official statement from the brand, where the changes are broken down and includes some notes from the engineer.

Presented at the last round of the World Championship held in Montecrestese (Italy) in the new version of the TR280i you can appreciate, at first, a more racing aspect: We find a new livery and new colors (olive green, black, gray, brown) but also more plastics. For example, radiator fins have been incorporated to channel the air from the refrigerator; as well as new chassis trims and wrap-around exhaust guards . The Airbox cover designed with direct air intake to the intake and a Z-stroke: “In this way, we prevent the entry of water or dirt and manage to provide fresh air in all circumstances. We also improve the circulation of cooling air and the performance of the engine,” he says Josep Serra Xiu.

In terms of handling, the aim of the improvements has been to achieve greater ergonomics and manoeuvrability, especially when manoeuvring at low speeds.  To this end, the following changes have been incorporated: Footpegs with more grip and a larger support surface, while reducing weight; exhaust protectors that improve the support of the boots and, in addition, a new lower plate that increases the angle of rotation. The new version of the Tr280i also has a new front fork tare that is softer and more progressive, generating a great feeling of lightness and safety in the ride.

The engine, gearbox, exhaust, electronics and wheels are also presented with new features: New rear wheel hub with ball bearings, reinforced exhaust and starter sprocket, new muffler clamping spring, new clutch discs, new injection map Improved cold starting, a new fuel gauge, a new gear selector spring, a new water pump shaft and a new throttle body spring to improve throttle feel are the improvements that have been incorporated into the model that aims to be the most technologically advanced in the current trial scene.
