2011 kicks off

editorial2401After the celebration in Marseille of the second round of the Indoor World Championship, we can unofficially say that we have kicked off
the 2011 Trial season
. Last week saw the presentation of the ambitious competition team proposed by Ossa, although Fajardo’s debut has not been as brilliant as expected. Just the day before the presentation of the team, we carried out a new dynamic test of the Ossa TR 280i together with Salva García and we were able to draw interesting conclusions.

First of all, the test unit was equipped with the P8 injection map, instead of the P3 (5 evolutions between them) that the unit we tested at TRIALWORLD a few weeks ago carried. The evolution has been spectacular, although there is still a lot of work to be done. Undoubtedly, in Ossa they are progressing quickly and successfully. Until now, almost all injection tests were being carried out from a dyno in Japan under the initial “start-up” configuration. From now on, Ossa will focus his work on the mountains with the help of Jeroni Fajardo, who has been working on the
evolution of the TR 280i
for just over twenty days. On the other hand, we have received news that Ossa is working on a power-up kit (more displacement) to increase performance and meet the expectations of the most “pro” riders.

On the other hand, we had the opportunity to attend a new riding recital by Toni Bou, who once again sentenced at the Indoor in Marseille and is already the outstanding leader of the general classification. We’re only two races in, but Toni’s regularity, drive and perseverance make us predict that in a couple of months he could celebrate his fifth indoor world title. There is nothing. There is no detracting from the great effort of their rivals, but they have been unlucky to coincide in time with a 10th rider in every way.

More than one of you will have been moved by the interview we have prepared with Manuel Soler. Classic Trial occupies an important place in TRIALWORLD, basically because we understand that there are great synergies between the different eras and we must always project ourselves in the golden age of the dirt bike. Manuel quickly agreed to our request and we wanted to pay him this small tribute for everything he has contributed to the history of Trial in our borders.

To accompany this emotional we have carried out a

dynamic test with a Bultaco Sherpa T 350 mod 183, better known as the “Sherpa

Manuel Soler”, so that you can all know well what type of frames the ” Monstruito” Manuel Soler performed the feats we mentioned in the interview. The frame, in impeccable condition, is the property of Germán García, to whom we are very grateful for his willingness and hospitality.

We are preparing another great surprise for lovers of modern Trial and special components, which we will launch as soon as we have everything ready. I warn you that you are going to enjoy it a lot.

Finally, I didn’t want to say goodbye without reminding you of a couple of details. First of all, you can comment on all the news that is published in TRIALWORLD without leaving the news (you will find it at the bottom). Secondly, we continue to receive photos from classic fans to upload in our “classic trial in first person” report, as well as inviting you to share your classic story with us, just as our friend Pedro has done.

Greetings and happy week.
