Victory and leadership for Toni Bou in a controversial trial in Baiona

Toni Bou achieved an important victory in the penultimate round of the national trial championship, held today in Baiona, ahead of his main rival, Adam Raga, and Albert Cabestany who completed the podium.
As was the case two years ago, Baiona has once again been the scene of a valid event for the Spanish Trial Championship. In fact, this has been the sixth time during the last decade that the Galician town has hosted the highest national competition in this specialty.
The organization has been in charge of the Peña Moteros Valmiñor, who as in previous editions has located the 12 regulatory areas (only for TR1 and TR2, the rest 10) along the Monte Boi promenade, in the vicinity of the Parador Nacional de Turismo de Baiona. To be more exact, he has distributed them between the rocks that bathe the Atlantic and the mountain adjacent to the walls of the Count of Gondomar.

JERONI FAJARDO DISQUALIFIED

During the race the rain did not stop, complicating more than usual a route that Toni Bou had no problems solving with resounding authority, adding only two points on his card, while the second place was going to go to Jeroni Fajardo until Race Direction decided to disqualify him.
According to statements made by Fajardo himself to Trialworld, at the end of the tenth section he felt sick to his stomach and decided to go to the paddock services, later returning to the previous area along the same route, that is, in the opposite direction. This fact has led to the disqualification of the rider without, according to Jeroni himself, any of his rivals making any complaint.
With Jeroni out of the classification, second place went to Adam Raga, with 14 points, who thus remains in contention for the title depending on himself in the last race.
The third step of the podium went to Cabestany after winning the points playoff against the local star, Jorge Casales. Behind, Jaime Busto, Miquel Gelabert, Oriol Noguera and Arnau Farre.
Pol Tarrés, on the other hand, has retired due to mechanical problems in his Sherco.
In TR2, the victory went to Marc Riba for the fifth time this season, who won with a total of 31 points. Samuel Obradó, with 41 points, and Marcos Méndez, with 43 points, have followed him on the podium in that order.
In the rest of the levels in action, the best have been Gabriel Marcelli, in Junior; Francesc Recio, in TR3; Eric Miquel, in Cadet; and Sergio Puyo, in TR4. Precisely, Recio, who has chained here his seventh consecutive victory in seven appearances this 2015, has already been mathematically proclaimed winner of the TR3 National Trophy. This is the eleventh national title won by the Barcelona rider, the third at that level after those achieved in 2012 and 2014.

THE TITLE WILL BE DECIDED IN CAL ROSAL

The next and last round of the 2015 edition of the SPEA RFME Spanish Trial Championship will be held on November 15 in the Barcelona town of Cal Rosal and will be held by the Moto Club Baix Berguedà. All categories are invited.

DECLARATIONS

Toni Bou: It was a good birthday present. I’m happy with today’s race, it went very well. I was a bit worried, because in the Spanish championship if you win, you start in front in the next race and that’s a difficult thing. Today I opened the sections but despite this I think I had a good race, intelligent and without mistakes; Very good. The rain made things a bit trickier, but I only made a couple of mistakes and I was able to control the race. I’ll go into the last race, at Cal Rosal, as the leader, and I’m happy with that. It will be another difficult race, but I’m really looking forward to having a good race to close the season. It’s a shame that Jeroni was disqualified, having finished second, because what happened was silly. It would have been important to me if he had placed himself between me and Raga.
