Why was Jeroni Fajardo declassified in Baiona?

Jeroni Fajardo has lost the provisional third position of the Spanish Trial Championship in favor of Albert Cabestany after being excluded from the classification in the Trial of Baiona (Pontevedra), corresponding to the penultimate round of the season.
As Fajardo himself told Trialworld, the incident took place in the tenth zone, located about 150 meters from the paddock. At that moment, the rider felt sick to his stomach and had to interrupt his performance to go to the emergency service located in the paddock.
The reason for the exclusion was not that, but that Jeroni rejoined the competition through the same interzone section that he used to reach the paddock, that is, in the opposite direction, instead of redoing the entire route from the first section, something that is penalized in the regulations.

THE AFTERMATH

The Race Director saw Jeroni’s action and did not hesitate to exclude him after the end of the race, where he would have finished in second position.
This decision has two direct consequences in the standings: first, that Toni Bou and Adam Raga arrive less separated to Cal Rosal and with the current margin a victory for Raga would already give him the title, and secondly that Jeroni is now forced to finish ahead of Cabestany to obtain a third final position that he would otherwise have already assured.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE DECISION? TOO STRICT OR FAIR?
