Toni Bou wins in Pobladura de las Regueras

The third round of the 2016 Spanish Trial Championship has given us a new duel of intensity between Adam Raga and Toni Bou. In the context of a difficult and demanding route, as well as physically tough due to the heat, Toni Bou achieved his third consecutive victory of the season, consolidating his position at the top of the provisional standings.
One of the keys to the race was the draw for the starting positions, where Jaime Busto was the most affected, having to open the sections, followed by Adam Raga who did not find the ideal references in his rival. Toni Bou started behind and took advantage of being able to study his rivals.
At the end of the first lap the gap between Bou and Raga was only three points, but Bou consolidated his lead and increased the advantage over his rival to finish the race with a margin of 7 points.
Cabestany also had a great race and was very close to making contact with Raga, but several mistakes forced him to settle for third place on the podium. Busto, on the other hand, did not have his day and finished fifth behind a great Jorge Casales. Gelabert, Farre and Noguera completed the classification.
Toni Bou: “I’m very happy with how I rode here in Pobladura. With these three wins in the three races, already in the middle of the championship, it’s very important. I’ve also had a bit of luck this season in the draw, and I haven’t opened up any areas, as happened to Jaime today… The areas today were tricky, they skated and it was very easy to make points. Some we have done, but we have been able to recover them. We will try to continue in this positive vein, also in the National.”
Adam Raga: “It was a demanding trial because of the areas and the heat. I started second behind Jaime Busto, who didn’t have his best day, so his references weren’t very useful to me. I’ve been able to fight with Toni Bou one-on-one, managing to be at the front on several occasions. This second place is a great result. The goal is still to learn and improve in every race.”
Jaime Busto: “I went out first and paid for it. I didn’t manage to ride as I should, it was very difficult for me. The sections were difficult, but I like having to apply myself to get them out, but being the first rider maybe this time it didn’t go well for me and it didn’t help me much that other riders behind me did the sections. What’s more, I’ve been even more confused and I’ve made more mistakes. I hope to improve in the next one.”
