Electric Motion has presented a revolutionary electric trial motorcycle that will see the light of day at the production level in April of this year 2024. It is a completely renewed model compared to the EPURE trial model, designed to assault the highest category of competition with full guarantees and also offer the market a state-of-the-art product in all sections.

Yesterday, Thursday, we traveled to Montpellier, France, to attend the inauguration of the new factory of Electric Motion, a brand that was born in 2009 and produced its first electric motorcycle in 2012, which is experiencing a very important growth at the range and market level in recent years.

In this way, the French brand needed to increase its production capacity, development and racing department, so this leap forced the transfer of the entire EM team to a new factory, perfectly built to suit its needs. Everything is thought out to the millimeter and its assembly line is expected to exceed a production of more than 2,000 electric motorcycles per year by 2025, which would allow them to lead the trial segment at all levels.

To meet these expectations, Electric Motion has been working for two years on an ambitious range development plan to cover more segments and ages, adding a plus of vitamins by presenting a completely renewed prototype of its electric trial bike, which will be called FACTOR-E.

In addition, the brand has announced that it will also produce children’s electric motorcycles, which are added to the new Electric Motion Escape XR, an evolution of the Escape saga closer to enduro.

The

is already a reality, although there is still no clear date for when it will arrive on the production lines. It is known that it will be during this year 2024 and that this prototype will debut today in competition with Gael Chatagno at the Montpellier Indoor Trial.

The work that has been done in this ELECTRIC MOTION FACTOR-E is absolutely incredible and profound, with aspects that we will detail below.

Chassis ELECTRIC MOTION FACTOR-E

First of all, it has been decided to incorporate a new chassis and it makes perfect sense. The new engine provides another, more efficient weight distribution and therefore it was necessary to recompose both the position and the engine anchors to achieve a perfect weight distribution. In addition, it has been further strengthened if possible, thinking about the demands of high competition (TrialGP) where the brand wants to be in 2025.

As a result, the bodywork is also modified, which has a similar shape to the EPURE. We also have new features in the rear axle, where TECH has been entrusted with the damping system on both axles, thus abandoning the REIGER that is still in force this 2024 in the EPURE RACE.

Other components are also new, such as the 520 pitch chain (428 so far), as well as certain components signed by S3 Parts.

Power train ELECTRIC MOTION FACTOR-E

On a mechanical level, everything is completely new. Starting with the engine block, where more inertia capacity, torque and increased revs have been sought. This translates into data such as that it is able to offer a 1,400NM torque in first gear (almost twice as high as a 2-stroke motorcycle) and Scale up to 17,000 rpm. It’s more practical data, the power of this Electric Motion FACTOR-E reaches up to 25hp, which is about five or six hp more than an equivalent combustion engine.

The battery (1.8 kWh and optional 2.5 kWh) is also new at all levels: housing, button, anchors, connections and interior cells. The aim has been to increase the range, which is equivalent to about 60 kilometres, increase the performance and reliability of the set. This battery is removed in just 30 seconds.

The engine retains the mechanical clutch, but now with Kevlar discs and a completely new configuration, developed by the prestigious Xiu, guaranteeing reliability and durability.

Perhaps the great novelty is the four-speed gearbox, replacing the automatic gearbox that we currently see in the EPURE range. This gearbox also has a neutral center.

The controller, the brain of the power train, is also completely new. It has three power maps that are completely custom-configured via EM CONNECT, an application that allows you to customize the response, speed and power of the bike, also adding the option to activate TKO (idle) and also configure its rev and inertia regime.

The Electric Motion Factor-E 2025 is now available for immediate delivery at Trialworld Store, official Electric Motion dealer. at a price of €11,800 with a 2.5KW battery.
