The national trial starts in Mallorca this weekend

The outdoor trial season breaks into the halfway point of the indoor world championship to celebrate the first scoring race for the Spanish TR1 Trial Championship, the second for the rest of the categories.
The stage will be Sant Joan (Mallorca), a fiefdom where Toni Bou reaped a bittersweet third place last year and where this time he hopes to improve his result despite the difficulties of the championship. Let’s remember that the National Trial is governed by a different regulation to the Outdoor World Championship and stops are allowed.

The organization of this first test of the National Trial corresponds to the Penya Motorista Sant Joan, which has the support of the consistory of the Balearic town and also of the Balearic Motorcycling Federation. The race will have a route of about 13 kilometers where a total of 12 zones will be located. The drivers of the highest category, TR1, will have to cross each zone twice consecutively.

Everything points to the fact that in 2016 we will find a very disputed championship, where we must also count among the favorites Adam Raga, Cabestany, Fajardo and of course with the great talents such as Busto, who already surprised by winning the last race of last season, as well as Jorge Casales or Pol Tarrés, among others.

DECLARATIONS

Toni Bou: The Spanish Championship is a slightly different competition from the rest; it’s important for everyone, but it’s in the middle of the indoor season and it’s a bit awkward for those of us who are fighting for the XTrial championship. But since we can’t change this early onset, we have to adapt to these complications. Above all, we have to try to have a good race, start the championship well and forget last year’s third place looking for a good feeling and also check that the work we have done on the bike is positive.
Jaime Busto: Last year I had a lot of trouble running. It’s a difficult terrain, which slips a lot and is very demanding. I’m really looking forward to it, more than ever, to forget the bad taste of the 2015 race. The goal is to do a good trial and try to be consistent in the battle for the podium.
