The first season of the new era of the FIM X-Trial World Championship sets significant sporting records

The FIM X-Trial World Championship, which ended last Thursday in Budapest, has set records that reflect an important step forward for the discipline.

Up to 16 riders have participated in the championship throughout the 7 races held.
6 different nationalities have been represented in the competition throughout the season.
7 riders from different countries have been able to get on the podium on some occasion and 3 of them (Toni Bou, Jaime Busto and Adam Raga) have achieved victories.
6 young talents of the specialty have made their debut in the Championship.
Toni Bou has amassed the 12th consecutive world title of his sporting career.

Jaime Busto has added his first overall victory. With this victory in Paris, Busto became the 20th rider to win an X-Trial World Championship in the history of the competition and only the fourth to do so over the last decade.

In 5 of the 7 races played, the victory has been decided by 6 points or less. The narrowest margin was 3 points in Paris and Budapest where the winner was decided in the last zone.
With his impressive consistency throughout the season, Adam Raga has amassed 25 consecutive podiums since 2014 and now has a total of 104 in his career. In addition, the TRS rider has set a new record for points accumulated in his world championship career with 2043 surpassing Dougie Lampkin.

Takahisa Fujinami has set the maximum number of participations in X-Trial World Championship events at 136.
The Frenchman Benoit Bincaz and the Spaniard Miquel Gelabert have been the great revelations of the season among the debutants , adding two third places for the Frenchman and a second position for the Spaniard as the best results. For his part, Bincaz was the first Frenchman to stand on the podium of the X-Trial World Championship since 2001, achieving it with a French brand (Scorpa) and in his country (Toulouse).

The season finale in Budapest meant Hungary became the 19th country to host an X-Trial World Championship event.

Some of these riders will participate on Friday, April 6, in the X-Trial of Nations that will be held at the Palais Nikaia in Nice.
