On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Cota, Honda has brought together today in a colloquium great figures who have represented the brand in one way or another during these five decades.
Illustrious personalities of the History of Montesa such as Pere Pi, Joan Canellas, Permanyer, Pere Ferrer, Miquel Cirera, Oscar giró, Toni Bou or Takahisa Fujinami, have recalled the best moments of a model that, as a great milestone in motorcycling, is the fact that it was the only model to have been manufactured uninterruptedly for half a century.
In these 50 years in production, from the first Cota 247 to the Cota 300RR, there have been
launched no less than 43 variants of the Cota model, a figure that demonstrates the high capacity
of the development and production of the Montesa factory, as certified by the more than 1,276,000
units (441,000 Montesa and 835,000 Honda) produced between 1945 and 2017.
The colloquium has led to the presentation of the Montesa Cota 50th anniversary edition, a limited version of 50 units that commemorates this endearing historical milestone. It is a model whose main difference is the decoration, keeping the mechanical part unchanged, except for an update and improvement in the clutch, and the chassis part.
