Marc Riba is proclaimed Spanish Champion in TR2

The young Gas Gas rider quickly sealed the TR2 title. The Madrid town of Valdemanco hosted this past weekend the penultimate round of the Spanish Trial Championship. A race in which the Barcelona rider returned to the podium, in the third box, thus mathematically securing the title of the category for the second consecutive year, after also doing so in 2015.

Marc Riba was in the lead at the start of the first lap. However, the pressure of the clock betrayed the Gas Gas rider when he had everything in front of him to lead the first lap. He strung together three fives in the final four sections, which meant that he finished the first lap in second position, penalized with three points for time.
On the second lap, the young rider from Centelles managed to improve, finally delivering his card with seventeen points. A good performance that, after the results of both laps were calculated, allowed Marc Riba to conclude the day with 50 points and climb to the third step of the podium, securing for the second consecutive year the title of Spanish Trial TR2 champion.
The 2016 Spanish Trial Championship will come to an end on November 13 in Antas, the last round of the national championship organized by the Moto Club 100 Millas Almeriense.
Marc Riba: “I started quite well, but in two of the last four sections of the first lap, the race slipped a little bit out of our hands, because of the rush as time was on us. In the second lap, everything went much better, and in the end, we scored only 17 points, which with the 30 of the first and the three penalties, allowed us to finish third and leave Valdemanco with the TR2 title under our arm.”
