Manuel Casado, great candidate for president of RFME

During this month of September, a A new call to elect the candidate who will replace Joan Moreta at the head of the Royal Spanish Motorcycling Federation (RFME). The election process is proving problematic, due to a series of irregularities, the intervention of the Board of Electoral Guarantees has been necessary to revoke the process on two occasions.

Finally, it will be on September 18 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. when the face-to-face voting will take place – from September 1 to 10 it can also be done by mail – at the RFME headquarters in Madrid.

The great hope for Trial fans is the candidacy of Manuel Casado. His link to the world of motoring since 1975 as founder of the Moto Club Cañada (organizer, among other races, of the Navacerrada World Championship in 1996) or more recently of the Moto Club Sotobike (promoter and co-organizer of the Spanish Classics Cup). Manuel has also been Vice President of the RFME for 

14 years old, Trial Delegate of the RFME, and even Official Trial Position in the International Motorcycling Federation. To this we must also add his status as an active pilot.

Why is the presidency important in Manuel Casado’s presidency?

His extensive career in the world of motorcycling and the particular passion for Trial in particular , allow Manuel to have an outstanding knowledge of the context and needs that this sport needs  , understood both from the point of view of the amateur, as well as the Moto Club or Federation.

Considering the severe restrictions on access to the mountains that currently plague us, we need a trusted president capable of fighting judiciously for our rights.

His election is even more decisive if we consider the dubious reputation of the second candidate, Angel Viladoms, the protagonist of numerous scandals and recently indicted for embezzlement. See news here.

To recover the boom in the championships of the “off road” specialties, which have collapsed in recent years, boosting the help to the organizers and riders.

Fight for environmental legislation that allows motorcycles access to the natural environment and is compatible with it.

Improve the contribution of sponsors for the RFME and the motorcycle world, despite the terrible economic moment.

The approach of the RFME not only to the world of sports and competition, but to the world of motorcycle users in general.

Who is Manuel Casado? In the first person.

I started in the world of motorcycling in December 1975 when I was the founder of the Moto Club Cañada, which has organized a large number of regional and provincial championships, several Spanish trial and enduro championships and the Navacerrada Trial World Championship in 1996.

I have been linked to motorcycling as a member of the Madrid Motorcycling Delegation in the 70s, in the Federation of the Two Castiles, as Member and Treasurer of the Royal Spanish Motorcycling Federation with Oriol Maurí as president, and in the time of Juan Alvarez as Vice President for 14 years of the same RFME.

He is also a Trial Delegate of the RFME, an official position in the Spanish Championships, an official position of the FIM Trial, and responsible for the specialty of Trial in the RFME in the Board of Directors.

He was also a member of the Executive Committee of the RFME until I left 5 years ago when Juan Moreta became president.

I have also been and continue to be an active Trial and Enduro rider from 1976 to the present day.

Founder of the Moto Club Sotobike in 1999 and promoter-co-organizer with it of the Spanish Cup of Trial Classics for 2 years and of races as important as the Dos Dias de Robregordo and still active.
