JAIME BUST

Jaime Busto is one of the best riders on the current trial scene. In 2014 he was a brilliant winner of the FIM World Cup which was the old Junior World Championship, winning 7 races out of 13, and in 2012 he was champion in the Youth 125 category, a competition in which he made his debut in 2011 at the age of 13.

At national level, the Basque rider has won all the titles in the lower categories and in 2015 he finished eighth overall despite suffering an injury in the final part of the season.

THE BEGINNINGS OF Jaime Busto

Born in a town in Biscay called Górliz, Jaime Busto started riding a motorcycle at the age of 3 on a Yamaha PW and then switched to a Gas Gas boy 50. Both his grandfather and his father are big fans of Trial. A regular at competitions, his father soon passed on his passion to Jaime.
At the age of 6 he began to compete in Catalonia in the Children’s Championship in the Initiation category and he moved up the category until today, when he rubs shoulders with the great figures of trial.

He started competing in Catalonia because there is a specific championship for children from the age of 6 that allows them to go up the level little by little. Jaime’s family thought it was the best thing for his learning.

At the national level, the Basque rider has won all the titles in the lower categories and in 2021 he finished as absolute first, thus beating Adam Raga. In February 2015 , Jaime Busto signed for the Repsol Honda-Montesa Team, becoming a teammate of two great champions, Toni Bou and Takahisa Fujinami. In this way, the HRC team ensures a promising future by linking one of the Spanish riders with the greatest projection in its structure.

In his first year in the top category, the Basque rider Jaime Busto achieved a meritorious sixth place in the general classification of the Trial World Championship , finishing only behind the nine-time world champion, Toni Bou, the two-time champion Adam Raga, Jeroni Fajardo, Albert Cabestany and Takahisa Fujinami, riders who in many cases are twice the age of the gorliztarra.

In 2018 Jaime Busto signed for the official Gas Gas team, ending three years as a rider for the official Montesa team. Currently the rider and since 2019 he is part of the firm Vertigo where he has achieved, a Spanish Championship and a third place in the World Championship.
