CD Pobladura Regueras has promoted the first round of the European Trial Championship on behalf of the RFME. The one in Pobladura was the first of the five scoring tests for this type of motor race.
The circuit located in the municipality of Igüeña, in Bierzo Alto, has served to kick off this competition, which will now travel to Bréals sous Montfort, in France, on April 16 and 17.
The competition brought together the pilots of the 5 categories Main Ones That Score points for the final standings of the European Championship where they have only participated 59 pilots, but also those in the categories called “International” which are intended to enable the Participation of local pilots with national license at lower costs and who just want to participate in a test. In this category , 90 pilots have participated.
This Saturday, the Championship kicked off with the women’s and youth categories, while on Sunday the absolute, junior and veteran +40 categories were held.
SATURDAY (YOUTH & WOMEN)
In the category of the youngest drivers of the weekend, Youth or Youth, there’s also been a very outstanding pilot, George Hemingway, Beta, completing the trial with just 14 points against the 43 of the second-placed Galician rider Xurxo Neo as Third place, the German Johannes Heidel with 50 points, 5 less than the Norwegian Jonas Jorgensen , while the Italian Marco Turco completed the top 5 of the 13 participants.
In the Women’s category, Noemi Monnier has taken two victories this weekend, the first in Pobladura with a victory with 23 feet and the second a second position in the Women’s Trophy. In second place on the podium, Alicia Robisnon climbed with her Beta and the podium was completed by Kaytlyn Adshead with 45 points. By just two points, Germany’s TRRS driver Vivian Wachs missed out on the podium.
In the Non-scoring categories, triple Spanish podium in Inter Women, with Laia Pi winner with 33 points in total, Second place for Daniela Hernando with 63 and third by Eva Muñoz with 73, out of a total of 8 participants, completing the classification the also Spanish Vertigo Claudia Serrada and María Font.
The Inter Youth category has only had 6 riders, with the Italian Etienne Giacuzzo winning with 49 points, followed by the Spaniard Genís Forns with 77 and the German Amaro Smith with 91.
SUNDAY (VETERANS +40, ABSOLUTE AND JUNIOR)
On Sunday came the absolute category, in which there were only 10 riders, including the Austrian Marco Mempor, Gas Gas driver with 18 points. The Norwegian Jarand Mattias Vold Gunvaldsen of TRRS was second with 25, and with two more points the eldest of the Hemingway brothers, Harry, climbed the podium with 27.
The Junior category was the one in which the most pilots participated, with a total of 21 participants. Poland’s Milozs Zyznowsky took the victory by just one point over Denmark’s Alex Overby. Norway’s Sander Bjoraa was third with 32 penalties.
In the third scoring category, Veterans +40, the former British World Cup player Dan Clark was the winner with just a one-point advantage over driver Sergio Puyo, leaving the German well behind Marcus Kipp with 16 , while the Leonese Eduardo Álvarez was ranked fourth with 19 of the total of only 7 drivers registered.

As a preparatory championship for the Trial World Championship, the Non Stop
regulations apply, which contributes to a more dynamic trial, which maintains a spirit much closer to the original trial, without the pressure of the stopwatch or a marking of indoor-type areas, thus offering an image much closer to the fan and more favorable to the survival of this sport, since it is appreciated as more practicable.
The Pobladura de las Regueras trial circuit is one of the best circuits of its kind in Spain and has a convening power that crosses borders. It has hosted international events, such as those this weekend, and even the World Championships and in the competitions it organizes it manages to attract amateur motor athletes from all over Spain and even reaches an international level.
In addition, its facilities carry out intense training work that, together with others in the region, promote the practice of this motor activity in El Bierzo.
