How to wash your trial bike properly?

The washing operation is essential within the set-up of your
trial bike due to
several circumstances. Firstly, due to the multitude of agents present in the field that can leave consequences on the performance of your motorcycle, and secondly, for aesthetics and maintenance.

Washing your trial bike well is not simply giving it pressurized water for a couple of minutes in the car when you return home. It’s a good idea to be aware that the lifespan of many components is at stake and it doesn’t cost as much to get it right.

Cleaning your trial bike step by step

Step 1: once we have the bike on the stand and the rear wheel rotates freely, we will proceed to cover the silencer with the cap and spray with the Repsol degreasing spray those mechanical elements where the grease is present. We’re talking about the chain, linkages, and everything else in the drivetrain kit.
Step 2: use the brush to clean the entire transmission kit and release the most adhering grease.

Step 3: we proceed to use the pressurized machine, with the premise of keeping a distance of one meter from the motorcycle and avoiding direct impact on any electrical component. We pay attention to the underside of the bike to clean all the linkages and the shock well, as well as the sump plate.
Step 4: once we have completely gone over the bike, we can repeat the operation with the help of a specific shampoo for vehicles such as the one marketed by Repsol. It can be applied with a spray or a sponge. We proceed to remove the soap next.
Step 5: the bike is now clean, but wet. We take the opportunity to dry the bike by blowing with a compressor (if we have one) to remove the water from the most remote parts. We will start the bike so that the heat dissipates the humidity from all corners. It is also a good time to close the fuel tank and leave our motorcycle properly stored.

Step 6: Now it’s time to grease. Again on the trestle, spray the chain completely with the Repsol Chain chain spray. Then, with the help of Repsol’s multipurpose spray, we will grease all the relevant moving elements. We are referring to the linkages, the joints of the footrests, as well as the springs of the gear and brake levers.
Step 7: If it’s your turn, it’s a good time to
clean the air filter on your trial bike
.
Step 8: for the most demanding, Repsol also sells a spray called Silicone, which guarantees a perfect finish on all plastics.
Step 9: Try
to store your trial bike on a stand
, as the low pressure of the wheels favors the deformation of the tire if it is supported receiving all the weight on the same point for days or weeks.
By following these steps, you’ll always find the perfect bike when you’re going to use it. We can complete this operation in less than 10 minutes and we will be preventing the appearance of rusts, as well as the correct functioning and durability of all the components of the trial bike.
