Good start in the National Trial for Vertigo

The Vertigo riders shone in the first race of the 2019 National Trial Championship. Pau Martínez won in Junior, Berta Abellán was 2nd in Women’s A and Dani Comas 3rd in TR3. Jorge Casales in the Top 5 of TR1 and David Avendaño 9th in TR2.
Arnedillo was the scene of the first round of the 2019 Spanish Trial Championship. The Vertigo team, this year with more representatives than ever, arrived with the label of favorite team in several of the categories, and the truth is that once the weekend ended the predictions were confirmed, with a total of three podiums and all its riders fighting for the first positions in all the categories in which the green brand was represented.
Jorge Casales already showed in Saturday’s qualifying zone that he is in great form. He finished 4th after a very solid performance, without mistakes and with a lot of fluidity. On Sunday, the first pass left Casales with 17 points, but in the second he would be able to improve. Only a fiasco in zone 10 prevented him from making an almost perfect lap, because until that moment he only accumulated 5 points on his card. He finished with 32 and in a meritorious 5th position, on a day in which he finished with very good feelings that allow him to be optimistic when planning the attack to higher altitudes in the next races.
In TR2 David Avendaño showed his qualities during the two days of competition in this demanding category, full of rivals with a high level. On Saturday he was 9th, the same position he would occupy on Sunday after the end of the trial. In his case the first pass was better, in the 2nd he had it somewhat more difficult and could not lower his score. He finished with a total of 69, tying with the 8th place.

The team’s most recent signing, Dani Comas, got off to a good start on his Vertical, managing to be third in the TR3 category, in which he maintained an intense fight for second place until the end. Only 1 point deprived him of climbing to the second box, but in any case this is an excellent result considering the short running time on the bike with which he arrived at Arnedillo.

Who really debuted in style was Pau Martínez. His victory was undisputed in Junior with an incredible trial, in which he dazzled everyone aboard the Vertical 125c.c. No one was able to keep up with him, and after the first pass, in which he already registered the lowest score with only 13 points, in the second he finished the job with a masterful performance, adding only 5 points and taking the trial with a 20-point margin over the second classified.
In Women’s A, the reigning defending champion Berta Abellán was again sublime, but this time she had to settle for second place. In this category the trial was decided by small details, each point meant a big penalty in terms of fighting for the final victory, and although Abellán went from less to more, with a second pass in which he only let 4 points escape, this was not enough to start the year at the top of the podium, a place to which she will surely want to return in the next round of the championship, which will take place in Olván on April 14, where Femenino B will compete in its first race of the year and where the TR1 will not be.
