France supports off-road motorcycling

France takes a step forward in regulating access to the mountains by motorbike

Codever, the French Motorcycling Federation and the main Motorcycle Clubs in France supported by the Ministry of Sports, after the latest meetings with the French Ministry of Ecology, what would be the Ministry of the Environment in Spain have managed to take a fundamental step to be able to circulate on the roads, is a concept, but it is essential and will be reflected in the Law – “Roads are not natural spaces, but communication routes created by man and intended for the circulation of goods and people” With this simple and forceful modification, dignity has been restored to motorized users.

They have had thesupport of 180 deputies , recognising the importance of their approach to sport and tourism for the country. JUST LIKE IN SPAIN, here everything is a national park.

What’s changing…

The new text goes back to the foundations of the law of January 3, 1991, saying “Lalonde law”:

* Only “off-piste” is strictly prohibited. Motor vehicles may circulate freely on highways and roads open to public circulation

* Rural roads are affected without state status to the public circulation of motor vehicles, except for specific local regulations

* Private owners are left alone to decide whether or not to open their private or operating roads to the public circulation of motor vehicles. The Ministry strongly recommends that this decision be implemented in the same place, in order to avoid any ambiguity and litigation

What’s changing…

The new text returns to the fundamentals of the law of * sworn agents must give priority to the characterized infractions: off-road driving and driving on private roads indicated as prohibited by their owners.
