World Trial Guide in Cordoba

bou_escocia_400After an intense journey through Australia and Japan, the Outdoor Trial World Championship returns to Europe on June 16 and 17 to face its seventh and eighth round of points. It will be in a town with an intense trial tradition, Peñarroya – Pueblo Nuevo (Córdoba), which the national riders know well as the Spanish Trial Championship races have been held there.

The Cordovan event will reach the halfway point of a 2012 championship that, as usual, is dominated by Toni Bou , this time with a succulent lead of 29 points over his closest pursuer, Jeroni Fajardo.

The Beta rider is having a very regular season, with three second places in the six races he has played. This has allowed him to draw level with Cabestany in the provisional standings and open up a valuable six-point gap over Adam Raga. With two more points to his credit, closing the top five is Takahisa Fujinami.

Any of these five riders can opt for victory next weekend at the Spanish GP. Behind, a motivated Dani Oliveras will once again try to stop the push of the British navy, with pilots of the quality of Dabill, Brown or Challoner.

In Junior we will also attend two interesting days of competition. The leader and main favourite, the Frenchman Alex Ferrer , will face rivals such as Pol Tarrés , who has snatched a victory from him this season, Francesc Moret, Jorge Casales and Carles Traviesa. Maximum excitement and motivation for all our riders.

The presentation of the event, which took place at the Palacio de la Merced, was attended by the president of the Superior Council of Sports, Miguel Cardenal; the sub-delegate of the Government in Cordoba, Juan José Primo Jurado; the first vice-president of the Provincial Council, Salvador Fuentes; the Sports Delegate, Agustín Palomares; the delegate of the Area of the Junta de Andalucía in Cordoba, Salvador Hemán; the president of the GDR Valle del Alto Guadiato, Isabel Cabezas; the mayor of the municipality, María Gil and the president of the Motoclub La Afición, Manuel Corbo, among others.

Palomares indicated that
“from the Provincial Council we contribute our grain of sand, but we must congratulate Club La Afición because it has turned this international event into a showcase for our province”.

Fuentes stressed that
with “this championship the province opens up to the whole world through sport, which instills very positive values such as effort and discipline in our young people”.

Cardenal indicated that “the secret of the
success of Spanish sport is the existence of people like you, who are committed to sport”.

Within the circuit that will be created for the competition, an indoor area will be set up that will be built in the vicinity of the paddock so that the public who cannot access the other areas for some reason, can see live the best riders in the world, and contemplate the spectacle of the passage of motorcycles through almost impassable places.

ROUTE

The route will consist of fifteen zones through which the participant must pass through each of them twice. The accesses from one area to another will be signposted (interzones) and will have a length of no more than 12 kilometres in accordance with the Trial regulations.

The areas will be arranged in such a way that the route becomes a natural circuit, being linked and signposted by the organization so that the cattle tracks and paths that exist on that site can be used as links. These roads will also be used for public access to the competition, as well as access to material transport, sanitary services, cleaning services, Marshall, etc.

In the design of the areas, they will be grouped into three locations, so that the public does not have to make long journeys to be able to follow the pilots as they pass through them.

The last zone or zone 15 will be an indoor area, built in the vicinity of the paddock so that people who cannot access the natural areas can witness the show from a privileged place.

PADDOCK

The Paddock is the space that is used to house all the teams participating in the competition, with all the vehicles they carry, whether they are workshops, trailers, trailers, trucks, trailers, etc.

The Paddock also houses the different elements necessary for the competition, such as the starting stand, the podium, press rooms, timing room, jury room, cafeteria, etc.

Each plot that is allocated to each team or rider has at its disposal an electrical connection point and a water intake point, both complying with current regulations.

There is a space for the selective collection of polluting products, such as engine oil, brake fluid, coolant, etc.

It will have a location to wash motorcycles, with wastewater collection for treatment, first with a grease separator and later with a hydrocarbon separator.
