Video | Exhibition by Toni Bou and the Repsol team in Tarragona

Marc Márquez, Dani Pedrosa, Toni Bou, Takahisa Fujinami and Jaime Busto starred in an exhibition in front of 4,000 people, the proceeds of which will go entirely to a special education school in Tarragona.

The Repsol MotoGP and trial riders have visited Tarragona to promote the XVIII Mediterranean Games, which will be held during the summer of 2017 and in which Repsol is one of the main sponsors. Márquez, Pedrosa, Bou, Fujinami and Busto wanted to symbolise this support with a family photo accompanied by volunteers, organisers and authorities in an emblematic place for the city such as the Roman amphitheatre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In addition, the Repsol pilots participated in an exhibition that took place at the Tarraco Arena Plaza in front of 4,000 spectators. It is a solidarity event whose proceeds will go entirely to the Escola Solc, an institution in Tarragona dedicated to the education of children with special needs, which the athletes visited this morning. The pilots also travelled to the Repsol Industrial Complex in Tarragona, where they held a meeting with employees.

Repsol riders have 28 World Championships: 4 for Márquez, 3 for Pedrosa, 20 for Bou and 1 for Fujinami. Márquez and Pedrosa have arrived in Tarragona after winning the last two MotoGP Grands Prix at MotorLand and Misano, respectively.

The XVIII Mediterranean Games will be held from 30 June to 9 July 2017 in 16 municipalities around Tarragona and will involve 33 sports disciplines, 4,000 athletes of 26 different nationalities, 3,500 volunteers and more than 150,000 spectators.

Toni Bou: “We are really looking forward to offering a great show this afternoon at the exhibition, which we must not forget, it is for a solidarity purpose. We know that in Tarragona there is a lot of love for motor sport and we hope to fill the venue so that we can raise the most money and thus help the children of the Escola Solc. The welcome we have had from the Repsol workers during our visit to the refinery has also been nice.”
