UK GP D1: Bou wins, Fajardo unmarked

bou_aus480Bou has added his tenth victory of the season out of twelve possible in Penrith (United Kingdom), the scene of the penultimate and last round of the 2012 championship.

On the podium he was accompanied by his teammate Takahisa Fujinami, who put in a fantastic performance and slipped in front of the riders who are playing for the runner-up spot: Raga, Fajardo and Cabestany. Raga himself completed the podium.

Fajardo, who was second during the first lap, was relegated to fourth place , while Cabestany made it very difficult for himself to finish runner-up after finishing sixth, behind local rider James Dabill.

Tomorrow, Sunday, the runner-up spot will be decided. Fajardo has the lead and has 173 points, while Cabestany and Raga are tied at 170.

In Junior, Moret put the runner-up spot in his favour after achieving a fantastic victory. Tomorrow he will defend his chances.

Toni Bou: “With the championship already settled, today was a different day for me. I competed without any added pressure and in one of those trials that I like, with great difficulty. I’ve made some absurd mistakes, but I’ve achieved one of those victories that leave me really satisfied.”

Takahisa Fujinami:
“I’m quite satisfied with this second position and the team’s second consecutive one-two. On the second lap I improved significantly, equalling Toni’s score. It’s a shame that I made a few too many mistakes in the previous one and some points that I couldn’t recover.”
