Try Hebo Technical Leather 2.0 Trial Boots

Trial boots

are probably the most important component of a rider’s equipment. At Hebo they know this well, and that is why they have always had in their catalog a range of boots with different materials and concepts.

In this dynamic test we analyze the
Hebo Technical Leather 2.0 boots
, which represent the highest range of the Girona brand. These boots share a structure with the Technical Micro, with the difference that in this case leather is used as the base material and not microfiber. In the rest there are no variations.

It is worth remembering that Hebo completely renewed its range of boots two seasons ago, incorporating technical solutions that have never been seen before in the Technical range.

On the one hand, we see that different hardnesses of material are used depending on the area. For example, in the toe box it is much harder to protect the foot, while on the sides, which require greater flexibility, it is softer. Continuing with the protection section, we find a larger shin guard that is also ventilated. The inner face of the boot has also been reinforced with a TPU protector.

Another great novelty is that it incorporates two aluminum closures, instead of three like the previous model. The latter, corresponding to the upper closure, is now entrusted to a Velcro, which allows a more precise adjustment of the boot to the calf.

The sole, built by Goodyear, has also been worked on in depth, which has a double seam closure on the toe and a special reinforcement area in the support area of the footpeg and rear brake.

After six months of use, our conclusion is that this is a great trial boot. It is true that at first impression they may appear a bit bulky, but once they are on they fit like a glove. The finishes have been taken care of to the maximum, as shown by the protectors of the closures, the vents of the tibia or the finish of the soles.

We also like the combination of hardness to keep the foot well protected in the front. The boot perfectly supports lateral movement, but with a little play to provide freedom of movement. Where it is very flexible is in the front and rear movements, as it has ample padding on both the front and back.

Regarding their water resistance, without being completely waterproof, they do hold up very well without water getting inside thanks to a non-removable inner membrane that is “water resist”.

As points that can be improved, we have the upper closure strap, which with wear sometimes complicates the positioning. In addition, depending on the rider, the strap can be very long or short. It would be good to consider having two strap options and having it be a replacement. Their weight, 1,221 grams per boot, is in the middle of the market, being lighter than the Alpinestars Tech T, but almost 150 grams heavier than the Gaerne.

For a correct maintenance of the leather of these

boots it is interesting to apply this protective cream for trial boots, thus favoring the durability of the material. It is important to note that Hebo sells replacement soles for its boots.

The entire range of Technical 2.0 trial boots, both Leather and Micro, are available from size 38 to 47. In the case of leather, the color of the leather can be either brown or black.
