Toni Bou TrialGP World Champion 2020

Toni Bou has once again been proclaimed World Champion at the Italian TrialGP. It is his 14th outdoor world title and, adding his 14 indoor titles, completes a spectacular number: 28 world crowns to his credit.

Toni Bou, 14-time TrialGP World Champion! This weekend in Lazzate, Italy, the Repsol Honda Team rider has just won a new world title, the fourteenth of his career. It has once again been a race dominated by Bou in which, together with the combination of results with his main rival, Toni has achieved a new victory, the fifth of the season which, added to a second place and a third, has managed to add a new crown to his impressive track record.

Fighting even against the pandemic, which has forced the World Championship calendar to be shortened and riders’ training sessions limited, and an arm injury that came to him in the first round of the World Championship, Toni Bou has overcome all the adversities presented to end up crowned today, in Italy. In front of him was Adam Raga, who had a bad race on Saturday, finishing seventh, which allowed Toni to be guaranteed the title with Sunday’s race remaining.

Toni Bou:

I didn’t really expect to win the championship today. It was a very tight trial, like all the tests this year, so it’s very easy to go from first to seventh, so we couldn’t fail. I’m super happy with this title, and even more so this year that has been so strange with a lot of practice and few races. We’ve won both titles, indoor and outdoor, which I’m very happy with. Now it’s time to enjoy and celebrate.
