The Belgian GP took place in the context of very demanding weather, with high temperatures, and long areas with significant slopes where difficulty was another of the key points. In TrialGP there have been areas where it was easy to fail and difficult to recover distances. In addition, as usual in the last races, the large volume of Trial2 riders, together with the long sections marked by the organizers, cause long queues that force the riders to overcome the areas with an extra rush so as not to penalize for time.

Toni Bou:

Today was a very tough race. It was very easy to fail and very difficult to recover. On the first lap we had Fajardo ahead of us who had a great race, but on the second lap we were able to come back and withstand the pressure well. We were able to win in the last section, in front of the crowd, which was very nice. Looking ahead to the championship, today is a very important day to take another step. I would also like to congratulate Fujinami, who also had a great race today opening up the sections.

Jeroni Fajardo:

Good weekend, I rode very well, with very few mistakes. The trial areas were very demanding. I was fighting one-on-one with Toni (Bou) and already on the first lap we took a good distance with the other competitors. The last sections were very difficult and although I overcame them well, we missed the victory by only 3 points. We have regained third place in the championship and we are in the fight for the runner-up spot. Thank you very much for the super effort that everyone is making at GasGas.

Adam Raga:

I’m happy with today’s third position, as my riding hasn’t been up to what I expected, making more mistakes than necessary and lacking success in key areas to be in the fight for victory. Physically it was a tough trial and we rode very fast to avoid a bigger time penalty.

Takahisa Fujinami:

I fought a lot today. When I opened the sections I didn’t know that so many riders were doing a lot of penalties, so I wasn’t aware of my position. Already in the second lap I went all out and finally I was very close to the podium. It’s a shame but seeing that I started first, I’m very happy with how I rode today. It has been very hard because of the heat, not only for me, but for the backpackers, mechanics… So thank you so much to the whole team. We are motivated to continue.
