Within the strategic plan that exists in the relaunch of the SHERCO and SCORPA Trial, there is the expansion of the range with different versions and technical complements.
In the first half of 2023, a kit will be marketed that will allow an electric start system to be incorporated into the SHERCO STR 2023 and the SCORPA SCT 2023, which is ultimately the same bike.
Since the new 2023 range from SHERCO and SCORPA It is equipped as standard with an electronic injection power supply system and a lithium battery that guarantees the electricity supply at all times, the incorporation of the electric start system is very well studied to make it a relatively simple task.
Beyond this information, no details have emerged about whether the bike can be ordered directly with this integrated kit, or the additional cost that this system will imply.
ELECTRIC STARTER, A “MUST”
The electric start arrived on the “top” trial bikes in 2019 with the commitment of TRS Motorcycles. Previously we found it in simple mechanics such as the Sherco TY 125 4T, or in the Montesa Cota 4RT through auxiliary industry kits such as S3 Parts.
There is an objective fact, and that is that it is a great help for the user, with the only counterpoint being the extra weight. However, with the Relocating this weight close to the center of gravity and the low weight of lithium batteries, we are talking about a real difference that barely reaches two kilos of weight between a motorcycle with or without an electric start.
In the coming months we will see more brands betting on electric starting, such as Vertigo. And somehow, other brands of electric motorcycles, such as Electric Motion, don’t involve kick-start operation.
As a curious fact, on a trial morning, with mixed use of route and areas, we can start the bikes more than thirty times.
