Matteo Grattarola and Vertigo part ways imminently

We have just learned the news of the parting ways between Matteo Grattarola and Vertigo Motors. A relationship that goes back to just six months ago, where the Italian rider took Jaime Busto’s seat as the brand’s main driver.

The results have not accompanied the rider during this first semester. In the TrialGP World Championship he occupies the sixth position overall, but with discreet results compared to the “top three”, the reference for the Italian for performance and projection of recent seasons.

Below, we reproduce in full the brand’s press release with the official information and statements of its CEO.

Official Statement

Vertigo Motors communicates that, after a complicated start to the season, where the distance between Italy – Matteo Grattarola’s family base – and Palau-Solità i Plegamans – headquarters of Vertigo Motors – has prevented the rider from participating in the constant development of our products and thus demonstrating the real potential of the bike and rider. Both parties have reached an agreement to end the contract that bound them until December 2024.

Vertigo Motors is not leaving the Trial World Championship. She will continue to be represented in Trial2 and Trial3 officially and will support Miquel Gelabert in his return as a private rider in the top category, having chosen Vertigo as the bike for this season. So, our brand continues to support its riders as it has always done. The presence of Vertigo Motors in top competition has two objectives: on the one hand, to develop and evolve its products – the Nitro is a good example of this – and, on the other hand, to support the sport of trial and its participants, whether professional or amateur.

The brand considers Matteo Grattarola an exceptional rider who deserves the opportunity to be in the team that best suits his circumstances. For this reason, and despite having honoured his contract in full until December 2023, it will make it easier for the Italian rider to participate in the rest of the races of the TrialGP World Championship. Vertigo has always shown its love for trial and those who practice it.

Vertigo Motors sincerely thanks Matteo Gratarola for his contribution during these months, his victories in the Italian championship and his commitment to our brand, and wishes him every success in his future endeavors.
In this way, in addition to continuing in the highest competition worldwide, the brand will focus on other fields of this sport.
