We present a very interesting project that undoubtedly makes parents rethink the evolutionary path of their children in their learning at the controls of the trial bike. Here we have the Electric Motion EPure Race “Kit Junior” and below we are going to reveal all the keys to a preparation that we have done in the Trialworld Store.
To understand the context of the Electric Motion EPure Race “Junior Kit” we have to make a chronology of the models that the market makes available to child riders according to age.
Usually, the stage between 5 and 9 years, practically all of the Children start and develop with electric trial bikes. First, with the 16-inch and then with the 20-inch. At this point, with between 8 and 10 years of age, the only possible path really continues with combustion bikes, ideally 80cc, where the only offer is concentrated in the Beta EVO 80. It is true that there are some Mecatecno T14 or Oset Bikes 24.0R on the second-hand market, but they are not models that allow you to progress in the technical evolution of trial and have many technical limitations.

By now, parents have already identified the advantages of electric propulsion. It opens up the range of options to go out to train and, generally, it is well seen by the rest of the population that lives with us in the mountains. And even more, because of the ease of use, the ability to customize the response and the low maintenance.
Until now, the options to continue on the path of electric propulsion were to buy an Electric Motion EPure Race and endure for two or three years, until 13 or 14 years of age, the fact that the bike was too big for them in all aspects.
With the arrival of the junior kit for the Electric Motion EPure Race, we bridge that distance and get a perfectly valid bike adapted to any child from the age of eight, being able to continue with this same bike for as long as we want, since it will never be short of power or performance. Electronics take care of that.
WHAT’S THE PREPARATION LIKE?
At Trialworld Store we have started with a used Electric Motion EPure Race, completely standard.
First of all, we have replaced the original set of tires and rims , with dimensions of 21″ and 19″, equipping a set of 19″ at the front and 17″ at the rear, identical measurements to those equipped with the Beta EVO 80. In this way we manage to significantly reduce the ground clearance and improve the handling of the bike for the little ones.
We have also made internal modifications to the front fork to adapt them to a weight that can be between 30 and 50 kilos in weight, ensuring that they work progressively and using the full travel of the bar. At the rear, we have replaced the shock absorber spring with one designed for less weight, also working on the hydraulic settings and the response of the shock absorber itself.
At the cockpit level, the handlebars have been replaced by another one with four centimetres less in length. Work has also been done on the footpegs, bringing them forward, without the need to modify the original supports of the bike.
ENGINE RESPONSE WITH 6 POWER LEVELS
So far, the modifications are aimed at adapting the dimensions of the bike to the size of the rider, looking for smaller motorcycle sensations, equivalent to a middle ground between an 80cc and 125cc trial bike.
Now it’s the turn of electronics.
Which displacement corresponds to each age?
One of the usual doubts of parents is whether the child needs to go through the 80cc displacement or it is better to jump directly to the 125cc. Normally, the first option is always better, so that you learn to squeeze the mechanics well and work with the body.
In the case of the Electric Motion EPure Race “Kit Junior” we don’t have to make these decisions, as we made an adaptation on the electronics that allows us to deploy 3 new power maps.
One-click power change
If the bike originally comes with 3 power maps (and another 3 additional ones where TKO or idle is activated), what we do is that this second group of 3 maps are transformed into new configurations that emulate the response of a 50cc, 80cc and 125cc motorcycle. In this way, if we are working with the switch in the first mode, we can select any of these three displacements dynamically, without stopping, so the child has resources to increase the power if necessary.
The moment the switch is activated in the second mode, the original 3 power maps would be maintained, whose response is equivalent to a 250cc, 280cc and 300cc. In other words, we have a bike capable of emulating the power of six different bikes.
Later, when the child evolves, we can restore the bike to the initial state, with the big wheels. And in a second moment, readjust the parameters of controls and weights.
It is obvious that the most complicated point is the investment required. An Electric Motion EPure Race has a new price of €11,500, to which we have to add the value of the complete preparation, which ranges from €1,000 to €1,500, depending on the scope and needs of the client.
The other option, as is the case with the examples in these photos, is to buy a unit on the second-hand trial market, which could be between €6,000 and €8,000, and then carry out the preparation. It is interesting to note that every time we change from one motorcycle to another, there is also a devaluation and tuning of the next model we acquire, so if we add up all these details and understand that the advantages of the Electric Motion As an electric vehicle and its performance, it is quite possible that the balance towards this option will tip firmly.
Let’s remember that the Electric Motion is registrable and is homologated at the level of a 125cc, so from the age of 16 you can ride with it in perfect legal condition.
