Marcelli takes his first TR1 victory in the CET in Olván

Gabriel Marcelli has achieved his first victory in the absolute category of the Spanish Trial Championship (TR1), in a race held in Olván (Barcelona) under the baton of MC Berguedá.

The penultimate round of CET 2021 leaves us with the third different winner in five races: Gabriel Marcelli. The Galician rider drove with hardly any mistakes on a mostly easy route for the TR1, with four zones (2, 3, 4 and 5) that would decide the result and the differences between the favourites for victory.

The most selective, zone 2, was only done in the first round. Marcelli was the only one able to surpass her under five points, so the mistake in zone 11 did not take its toll, closing the first pass through the zones as leader, with 7 points, followed by Raga with 8 and Busto with 11.

BUSTO RECOVERS AND BEATS RAGA, BUT NOT MARCELLI

The best rider on the second lap was Jaime Busto, with only one point on his scorecard. However, Marcelli’s consistency throughout the race was his greatest asset. He scored three points and the overall tally confirmed the long-awaited victory. Jaime’s good work allowed him to recover a position and overtake Raga, signing a second place that allows him to caress his first national title in TR1.

Adam Raga completed Olván’s podium. Behind, further away, were Miquel Gelabert, Pablo Suárez, Aniol Gelabert, Jorge Casales and Gerard Trueba.

Only the last race is left, which will be held in Aitona, Lleida, on November 14.

Gabriel Marcelli (WINNER)"I'm very happy. The day went very well. It was a day in which we suffered a lot because the trial was not very complicated and we had to be very tight. From zone one I concentrated to the maximum to have a good race. The team has worked hard and I want to thank them for their efforts. It's my first victory in the Spanish Trial Championship and it feels great!"
