Getting started in the world of trial motorcycling can be an exciting or torturous experience. It’s up to you. Logically, the number of key decisions that must be taken at the outset is accompanied by the uncertainty produced by the lack of knowledge of the sector. This report is designed to help you take those first steps successfully and enjoy an exciting sport, accessible to all ages and economical compared to other motorcycle disciplines.
We are aware that the impact generated by second-hand trial bikes has a decisive impact on the evolution and sustainability of our specialty. It is the main source of new fans who, depending on the success of this first stage, will decide in the future whether to continue their journey as trial riders and consider the possible outlay of a new bike or take a diametrically opposite path.

WHAT FACTORS INFLUENCE A SUCCESSFUL START IN TRIAL?

Starting from the fact that Trial is a sport suitable for absolutely all ages, where it is also easy to determine wide safety limits for the rider, the keys to success could be grouped into three main sections: chosen bike, social environment and training.

1) HOW TO CHOOSE MY FIRST TRIAL BIKE

The experiences we have lived in our Trial School, where a large percentage of amateurs come to us to learn the basic technique of the trial bike, allows us to be aware of the great difficulties that a layman has in the field to get started in a specialty so complex a priori and with so little information.

The The number of trial models offered by brand and year is inversely proportional to the quantity and quality of information that a new user can obtain about them. The difficulty grows even more if we take into account that the differences in the first determining factor, the price, are extraordinarily shortened in models with more than 10 years behind them. I mean In some cases there is barely a 300€ difference between motorcycles that are 10, 15 or even 20 years old. And which one do I choose? What should I keep in mind?

To answer all these questions, we have prepared this report:

Buying a trial bike for less than 1500 euros without dying in the attempt

In a nutshell, it’s It is extremely difficult to make an overall assessment of which bikes are the best or worst optionsince The particular maintenance and life of each unit is absolutely decisive in recommending or not recommending its purchase, but this buying guide for second-hand trial bikes will help you make a first selection filter.

If you’re thinking about buying a new trial bike, even better! You already have the guarantee that your experience at this point is going to be positive. Now all that’s left is to choose which model best suits your needs and preferences. To do this, we recommend you to read in depth this report that we have prepared on the offer of 2015 models on the market:

EQUIPMENT & MAINTENANCE
As an addendum to this first point, we recommend three basic and key points of the equipment that should be included in your initial budget: gloves, helmet and boots. All of them specific for trial bikes. You’d be surprised at the importance of being well-equipped and how different your overall experience can be.

Once you have your motorcycle at home, you will see that with a minimum of maintenance and the correct adjustments, you will enjoy it even more without having to make a large outlay. We recommend that you carefully follow these tips that we have prepared from our Trial School:
Tutorial on how to adjust the controls on your trial bike
Tutorial on how to check and tighten the chain on your trial bike
Tutorial on carburetion on the trial bike. Cleaning and adjustment.
What pressures should trial tyres have?

If you are one of those who prefer to first assess the experience before making the disbursement of your own motorcycle, it is also possible. In our Trial School we offer the possibility of renting these trial bikes with a course included.
The choice is yours!

2) THE SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT

Motivation is a key element to get started in trial. Forget all the videos you see on Youtube about Bou, Raga and company. That’s another sport. The “mundane” Trial is much simpler and more humble. You set your own boundaries and the only thing you have to worry about during the first few months is having fun.

To do this, it is interesting that you can form a group of friends with whom you can share the hobby and motivate each other.

None of your friends do trials? No problem. Luckily, in most of the Autonomous Communities there is a Motorcycling Federation that organizes Trial activities and championships. Talk to them, go to an event and see how the atmosphere is far from what you might think a priori. You will find a friendly and healthy atmosphere, with exciting routes and simple areas designed for amateurs. In races, great bonds are created and you will see how there are many more people in the same situation as you. There’s the opportunity to form your training group or excursions.

3) TRAINING

No one is born knowing. At our Trial School we say that it is a pleasant and ungrateful speciality in equal parts. Nice for how quickly you evolve in the first months when you have the guidelines and the technique clear; Ungrateful because it requires many hours of training and a good dose of courage to practice it at a high level. It’s not the goal either, so we’ll stick with the “nice” part.

We will always encourage you to sign up for a Trial School like ours. In addition to helping you with the choice of the bike and the set-up, we identify your needs and expectations, we analyze those “vices” or basic deficiencies that can limit your evolution and of course we know what areas or obstacles you must do at each stage of learning.

The camaraderie, the good atmosphere and the motivation are another of the incentives. Don’t expect the courses to be for high-level pilots, quite the opposite. Here are a few opinions from our students that may inspire you to improve your level with professional advice. If you agree, don’t wait any longer and click here. We are waiting for you!
