Jaime Busto takes pole position in qualifying for the Andorran GP

Under intense heat, the qualifying area of the Andorra Trial GP was held. Unlike the Spanish GP or the Japanese GP, the area proposed by the organization was more technical, although also simple in general terms for all the riders.

Jaime Busto
was the fastest rider in the top category, ensuring that he started tomorrow in last position. The Basque rider took a risk and literally flew over the qualifying area, where in addition to being the fastest he did not take a penalty.

For Jaime Busto: “Starting at the back tomorrow is a great advantage, I will have the opportunity to study more lines in the area. The sections don’t look difficult, so the starting order will be an important point for the development of the race.”

Adam Raga TrialGP Andorra

Two seconds behind Jaime was
Toni Bou
, who will have the opportunity to study his main rival, Adam Raga, who starts third. Dabill will be fourth, Grattarola fifth, Fujinami sixth, Fajardo seventh and Gelabert eighth.

DECLARATIONS

Toni Bou:

Today I did what I think I had to do, try to go fast without taking too many risks, some of us took, because I didn’t want to start at the front tomorrow because the trial is very easy and it would have been a big mistake. We can’t afford it because it’s a very important handicap to start at the front. It’s a good qualifying, starting behind Jaime, who has to be congratulated for his second pole. I don’t think the heat complicates the race, and I do think it’s a shame that they didn’t set a more difficult trial, because the place is incredible. I’m not very happy with what they’ve done. It’s a World Championship race and some more difficult ones could have been marked.
I’m excited about the opening of the area, the #TerritoriToniBou we opened today after a lot of fighting. It is a beautiful place, where you can do indoor and outdoor and there are many possibilities. We will create a school and there are still many projects ahead.

Jaime Busto:

I’m very happy to win my second qualifier. Today I risked a lot to get the best time, I was very fast and I was able to set a better time than Toni, who was already very good. So tomorrow I’ll start last and as the areas are a bit dirty, starting at the back I think will be good for me because I’ll find them a bit better. I don’t know what will affect the heat these days, but the level of the sections is not very demanding, so I think I will be able to have a good race.

Takahisa Fujinami:

It went well, I didn’t risk much, but I wanted to finish qualifying at zero so I wouldn’t start ahead. Sixth is not a bad result and it’s better than starting in front. Tomorrow will be tough because of the heat, because I think it will affect all of us fighting for the front positions quite a bit. The sections are not very difficult and we will need to be very focused during the race, from the beginning to the end, so as not to make mistakes.
