Gas Gas enters bankruptcy liquidation process

gasgas factory14, on June 30, in the board of directors and by majority, the partners of Gas Gas motos, decided to take the company definitively into liquidation, closing the option of the possible Swiss investor. This was communicated to the works council at a meeting held by the administrator and CEO.

In this way, and after seven months of negotiations, the legal deadlines have expired, the workers’ benefits have been consumed and the company has deteriorated. With a strategy carried out by the partners in a disastrous way for the brand, with the sole purpose of protecting their interests. Today, unilaterally, a part of the Israeli shareholder has decided to urge the company to liquidation. This irrevocable decision opens up a totally different and new scenario for the brand.

Verbally and until the liquidation is formalised, the committee together with the administrator and CEO have thought it appropriate, given that the activity in the company is currently non-existent, to agree on another paid leave until they can negotiate a temporary suspension file for the entire workforce, except for the replacement, financial department and management, the latter together with the committee. to prepare the sale of the production unit with the administrator.

The works council understands that it is facing an important challenge and that the only purpose we have always defended has been to work on an industrial plan that returns the brand to where it belongs, at the top of the off-road and trial sector. We know that it is not going to be easy, that we will find obstacles along the way, but we also look back and see that the path we left was not easy either. We’ve come a long way and we’re not going to stop, not now. Because if one thing is clear to us, it is that the workers of Gas Gas know how to make motorcycles and that we only need an economic boost and a good management team.
