FIM Final Report: There Will Be Japanese GP

japon_raga_cabes400Just a few minutes ago we received a press release indicating that the Japan GP will finally take place as planned. In the note they detail that the independent report is positive and all safety measures are met, despite the fact that a few days ago in Fukushima, which is located just over 100 km from Motegi, the highest levels of radioactivity since March were detected.

At Trialworld we have intensively followed the controversy of the Japanese GP in this report. We leave you with the already translated news that the FIM has sent:

“The FIM has received the detailed and final official report provided by ARPA, a recognised body to investigate the current situation in and around Motegi. Based on this report, the FIM confirms today that, subject to no further serious incidents, the seventh round of the 2011 FIM SPEA World Championship will take place on 20 and 21 August as planned.

ARPA has measured radiation levels from any source, including air, the environment, and food. The final conclusion is that “on the basis of dose calculation it can be said without doubt that the
radiation risk during the test event is negligible
.”

This study is intended to complement information already available from several governments and the World Health Organization, which addresses the overall situation in Japan following the earthquake and subsequent tsunami that occurred in March. This
independent investigation
specifically informs about the situation in and around Motegi, making it much more relevant to test participants.”
