Bou wins all the 2012 titles after winning the National in Cal Rosal

bou_nacional12_500Toni Bou wins the Spanish Outdoor Trial Championship in the last round held in Cal Rosal. The rider from Piera has done nothing but add titles this year to his already long list of national and international trophies. On this occasion, the last to win was the Spanish championship in the TR1 category. The race that ended the national competition was held this Sunday in Barcelona. Toni was waiting for the arrival of this to round off a magnificent season since in 2012 he has been proclaimed for the sixth time outdoor and national indoor trial world champion.

With this victory, the Repsol rider has today revalidated his title of Spanish Outdoor Trial Champion (2006, 2009 and 2011), an award with which he has put an end to a full season. At just 26 years of age, Bou has achieved for the third time an absolute plenary session that he held for the first time in 2009 and repeated in 2011.

BOU AND FAJARDO, THE PROTAGONISTS

The route consisted of 10km and 11 areas plus the indoor area spread around the municipality of Olvan, very accessible to the fans who have attended the race. The paddock, the indoor area and the secretariat have been located within the urban core of the municipality. The public has had a lot of fun with the best Trial riders in Spain.

Today in Cal Rosal not only was the title in TR1 at stake but also in TR2, TRCadete and TR3 +35. In TRJunior, Jaime Bustó arrived in Barcelona with the championship in his pocket, but Nacho Martín and Nacho Fernández-Sancho were fighting for the runner-up spot. Francesc Recio (TR3) was also the winner before this race and left Héctor Gairin and Marc Horrach to fight for the second final position.

After the two passes through the 12 zones, the results were as follows: in TR1 Toni Bou scored 13 points, three less than his nearest rival Jeroni Fajardo. Adam Raga qualified third with 27. Toni scored 5 points in the first lap and 8 in the second, overtaking his teammates and becoming Spanish champion. For the national rider, this has been the best season of his sporting career due to the achievements obtained.

CARLES TRAVIESA, TR2 CHAMPION. NOGUERA VIRTUAL WINNER IN CAL ROSAL

In TR2 Carles Traviesa and Iván Peydró have travelled to this race to fight for the championship. Carles has been better winning at Cal Rosal scoring 44 points. David Millán climbed to the second step of the podium and Marc Prat to the third. Ivan has stayed fifth with 61 points, so Carles is the champion.

In TR3, Francesc Recio already had the title in his possession before this race and did not participate, so Marc Horrach replaced him, beating and overtaking his rival in the fight for the runner-up position, Héctor Gairin. Third place went to Víctor Batalla.

Adrián Villabrille, Marc Riba and Vinanci Vidal were the best in the Cadet category. Marc and César Dus were first in the general standings but the Valencian’s allergy problems have left him off the podium. Adrian scored 16 points, Marc 19 and Venanci 34. Riba is the champion of this category.

FARRE CROWNS 2012 WITH VICTORY

In Junior, Arnau Farre has beaten his category rivals by 31 points. Luca Petrella was second with 53 and Jaume Roselló third with 63. Jaime Bustó, winner of this class, has retired.

Finally, in TR3 +35, Rubén García won the title by winning today. He was first overall but has corroborated his good form in Barcelona. Antoni Ramonet climbed to the second step of the podium and Bernard Riviere to the third.

DECLARATIONS

Toni Bou: “We have closed the season with the best possible result, in a very well-planned race with a high selective level. Revalidating the title of Spanish Champion has been the ideal end to a perfect season, of which I am perfectly aware that they are not easy to repeat. I feel very happy. We’ve won every championship we’ve been in, just like last year and in 2009. But if I had to choose between the three, I would say that this has been the best season of my career, both because of the number of wins, how we worked and fought, and because of my feelings on the bike.”

Jorge Casales: “They were difficult areas, with a lot of mud and nerves, as I went all the race with my rivals Moret and Borrellas, so we were playing for everything and very closely. The terrain and type of areas were very much in line with my style. Mention that a person in the audience put the tape in my wheel, making me add a five in a zone that I made to zero. In general, good feelings with the entire Gas Gas team, to whom, together with my sponsors and family, I want to thank for all the support”.

JOTAGAS EXPLAINS WHY ORIOL NOGUERA WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE VICTORY

From Jotagas, we wanted to issue this statement, as a thank you and recognition of the effort and the work carried out by Oriol Noguera in lime Rosal this past weekend, and as an explanatory note regarding what happened with qualifying following the rules and regulations with which we fully agree.

Oriol changed brand and bike just a week ago, and in record time he has managed to adapt in such a way that in his first race in Cal Rosal (Spanish championship), at the controls of a Jotagas, he achieved in TR2 a clear victory finishing in first place ahead of Traviesa and ahead of David Millán, also with Jotagas who finished third.

The Oriol’s official backpacker, his father, had discomfort not feeling well a few minutes before the start of the race; As a result of what happened, Oriol was forced to improvise, with little time to manoeuvre, a backpacker a few minutes before the start of the race; Oriol with Jotagas, won the race, Traviesa second, Millán third also with Jotagas, however, following an appeal/complaint by third parties regarding the improvised backpacking by Oriol, who was not federated, the victory was snatched from Oriol after a strict application of the regulations that we consider to have been correctly applied, Although considering the qualification of force majeure with respect to what happened, we also agree that it could have been avoided.

In any case, from Jotagas we wanted to congratulate Oriol and put on record in the media the great result he achieved with his new Jotagas (first real position) also considering that he could not do the race with the backpacker to which he is accustomed.

Thank you Oriol and go ahead!!!!
