On Sunday, December 4th, the 2011 FIM Awards Gala was held in which Spanish riders from all disciplines were very well represented. The discipline of Trial was once again represented by Laia Sanz and Toni Bou, who this time collected the award at the Casino de Estoril, the scene of the closing event of the 2011 season.
Our representatives at the gala were, in addition to Bou and Laia Sanz, Nico Terol, 125cc World Champion; Jorge Prado, 65cc Motocross World Champion; Carlos Checa, Superbike World Champion.
The big winners of the night were Carlos Checa, who was also chosen as Personality of the Year 2011and Laia Sanz, who won the Woman of the Year Award. A great event for Laia, who On December 27, he will embark on his second Dakar. where for 15 days she will fight with her Gas Gas to defend the women’s throne obtained last year.
Nor should we forget Nico Terol or Jorge Prado, the MX 65cc world champion, who has been another of the winners as the best Junior and also began his career on both bikes with the Trial.
