Adam Raga wins in Andorra and consolidates his world leadership
Sant Julià de Lòria (Andorra) is the scene of the third round of the Outdoor Trial World Championship. The test is not being easy at all, as the characteristics of the Andorran country indicate it. It has an 18-kilometer route with 18 sections and two laps to do in a maximum time of 5 hours, with a maximum altitude of 1,650 meters.

In the Pro category, Adam Raga has once again taken the victory, after the two he achieved in the United States in the second race of the year. On this occasion he has beaten Toni Bou by 5 points. Gas Gas has accumulated 21 while Montesa has accumulated 26.

On the first lap Adam made two fiascos and Toni three, while on the second Raga made few mistakes and Bou was back to a five in zone 16, which he choked on all day. Albert Cabestany has qualified third, adding 32 points in his locker.

Jeroni Fajardo was fourth, Takahisa Fujinami fifth, Daniel Oliveras sixth and Pere Borrellas eleventh.

In Junior, Jorge Casales, Pol Tarrés and Francesc Moret have occupied the three places of honour in Andorra. They have all shown that the Spanish Trial has a great future ahead of it. Despite the fact that Jorge, Pol and Francesc have had some fiasco, the rest of the areas have overcome them with solvency with very little penalty. Carles Traviesa was eighth and Oriol Noguera eleventh.

In 125 Nacho Fernández-Sancho was on the verge of getting on the podium. He finished fourth behind Quentin Carles De Caudemberg, Gabriele Giarga and Pietro Petrangeli. The Gas Gas rider has added 45 points, remaining 7 points behind third place. Nacho Martín was twelfth today with 88 points.

In the Women’s category, Sandra Gómez has started the world championship very well. She was second behind Rebekah Cook, who won the game by just 4 points. Despite the fact that the Ossa rider has made fewer fiascos, in the rest of the areas she has penalised more than the English rider, which has relegated her to second place. Mireia Conde was fifth, Maria Giro ninth, Elisabet Solera twelfth and Berta Abellán eighteenth.

Adam Raga: “I’m very happy with this victory because it wasn’t easy at all. On the first lap Toni (Bou) was riding very hard and there was a lot of pressure because I was behind him. But I’ve been able to handle it well. I was decisive in the area that I had to be and I got a great victory. Winning three races in a row is not easy at all. I feel good physically and I also want to thank the team for the great work in preparing for the race. It’s been a plus.”

Jorge Casales: “It was a very tough race from start to finish. On the first lap I made two mistakes that turned into two fiascos that equalized the scores. On the second lap I was going very well, but I thought I was only 4 points ahead before the last section. I went into it punctured and I made a fiasco. It wasn’t until I got to the paddock that I knew I had won!”

Toni Bou: “It’s hard to make a difference in this type of event, with many areas but mostly quite easy. The drivers were strict and this is positive, but in the general classification the trial was too easy. I don’t like the new rules, I say that again, and it’s hard for me to adapt to them. In these conditions, it’s about failing as little as possible and being as consistent as possible in the results.”

Takahisa Fujinami: “I started with a feeling of physical tension and already in the third section I confirmed that the controllers were very strict. So I was forced to change my riding style, which explains why, unlike my main rivals, I finished the first lap within the allowed time. On the second lap I felt better but I made two mistakes near the end that cost me a position.”
