The Barcelona Indoor Trial celebrates its 39th edition in one of the seasons of greatest sporting expectation. The great dominator of recent years, Toni Bou, is fighting an extraordinary battle with Adam Raga, the only rider capable of removing the rider from Montesa from the top step of the podium. Raga already achieved it in 2015 and has repeated the feat in the opening round of the current campaign, held at the mythical venue of
Sheffield
.
With a calendar of only four races, anything is possible and the excitement is at its highest.
Below you can find the most relevant information about the Barcelona Indoor Trial, which will be held on February 7 at the Palau Sant Jordi together with the Indoor Enduro.

INTERVIEW WITH BERNARD ESTRIPEAU, THE DESIGNER OF THE ZONES
Synonymous with original areas in their design and decoration, Bernard Estripeau has been responsible for the design and assembly of indoor trials all over the world since 1983. A true fan of trials, his more than thirty years of experience and his deep knowledge of this sport will shine at the Palau Sant Jordi.
What surprises await spectators in Barcelona?
Many. An area that will be a “forest” of stones or a large structure that will be reminiscent of a popular monument of the city. There will also be very original area decorations.
What type of course is ideal in an indoor trial?
Sections that all drivers can overcome, but that only the best are able to do without penalty. A route with technical areas and spectacular areas that, above all, are a challenge for them. That they are forced to use different piloting techniques depending on the jumps, the displacements to be made and the layout of the structures. I play with these elements and I manage to make the journey uneasy for them.
The large dimensions of the Palau Sant Jordi are the best ally…
A track like the one in Barcelona allows you to design areas that are both spectacular and technical, the ideal combination.
What is the maximum height of the areas of Barcelona?
More than seven meters, a very considerable height in indoor trial…
To what extent does the design of the zones condition the hegemony and technical level of a rider like Toni Bou?
I don’t think you have to build the zones with Toni in mind, but with all the riders in mind. If he gets through them without putting a single foot on the line, that’s great, but the important thing is that the riders go through the sections. You have to avoid those in which a good part of the participants do not even manage to enter.
Will we see an area with water in the Palau Sant Jordi?
Yes, I want to recreate an outdoor trial area that combines stones and water. In fact, the areas that those of us who work in this field like the most are those that reproduce natural scenery.
